Can someone explain the $40.00 ticket price for the WOO races at Volusia Speedway. I know the economy is bad but isnt that a little much?

That must be for the pits, right?
I think that's what is was last year, that or $35 for the pits...www.FloridaSprintCarFans.com - because Florida sprint car racing needs all the help it can get...

Plus eats(inflated) and drinks(inflated), way too rich for my blood.Originally posted by Dirt Digler View Post$39 for grandstands & $40 for pits. Lower the prices & more people will come. Most likely the crowds will be small.
At Daytona today for the qualifying for the Rolex 24 was less money than last year. $10 to get in fan zone and the same to park in the infield.....Was there for 7 hours. Good deal in my book. Plus got to see some drivers. Jimmy Johnson,Juan Pablo,Danika,Boris Said,Kyle Petty, etc,etc......Great day.

Hey Bean
YEA BUT.... When was the last Road Course race you saw on DIRT???????Originally posted by Stgbean54 View PostYou'll see more passing at 1 dirt track than you would at 10 asphalt tracks.
Lots of passin' and paint swappin' just in practice yesterday, and came home as clean as when I got there..........LOL

Jim puh-lease. I'm calling you out on that one. They need to make the race last 24 hours to make it more interesting. Then run multiple types of cars on the track at the same time to ensure some cars get passed a lot. BTW I like road racing you know that. Hope the holidays were good looking forward to seeing you and your boss next week.

I think the prices are a little high as well but this is the only time the true "Big Dogs" of sprint car racing come to Florida. So, I'll pay the extra money to see the best!. Just like Napcar the WoO has very high fees to hold a race. So like everything else in the world its passed on to the consumer...One other thing that hasn't been mentioned is that East Bay jacks up the prices for Speedweeks also.
This reminds about something Doug Wolfgang wrote in his book. He only got stiffed 4 times in his whole racing career on payout. All four times it was the same person...Ted Johnson.

I can still remember when Dick Murphy ran the track in the 90's. He only charged $25.00 to attend both the Asphalt track and the Dirt track. He had the old Hav-A-Tampa series along with the All Star Sprints . Some one told me that after Speed weeks he pocketed nearly 3 million in clear profit.
Just my 2 cents worth!!!

$39 That is the same as I paid last year and on Friday and Saturday we were squeezed in like sardines in a can. During the week for the late models was way less crowded. Where have you gone for any big event that the prices for everything aren't jacked up? Motels go up and they put a minimun on the nights you have to stay, food goes up so why can't the people putting on the show make some money too? Because from what I have seen lately they sure don't do it on a weekly show.

last speedweeks I went to volusia paid like 40 for me and I believe it was like 25 for my 8 year old son and then when I got in I was told to sit anywhere descent I would have to have a reserved seating ticket so we Had to sit up front and get pounded by rocks and mud all night and could only see a part of the front stretch. 39 bucks is way to much for any track to ask for the grandstands. The best racing at volusia always come from the the lower classes like the hobby stocks and sportsman. I miss the ten thousand to win hobby stock race they used to have, that was a show.

It is very good racing. But 39 or 40$ whichever is still too high in my book. If i had the money i would be there.
Could this be the race they use to pay the bills for the rest of the year?
If they are packed then that is a lot of money.
Crash a rama was 20 bucks which is reasonable.
It was packed.
Drop the price in half for the outlaws and youll get twice the crowd you get for $40.
And is it $40 for kids?ROOOOOTAMANN!
