  • Why not try a cone weave?

No, its not a hair style. I read that Hurricane kart speedway ran a cone weave event. Its probably better known as a slalom, but cone weave doesn't sound all european and wussy.

I think this would be a fun and entertaining time-filler, or intermission substitute.

Anyway, picture this: the track sets up a bunch of cones on the front straight and times the stock cars going through. Everyone gets one or two tries at it, depending on how many sign up to try. Put the cones far enough apart so they can keep some speed up!

You know who would win? A strictly stock or some car from the junker class. The faster cars wouldn't be able to see the cones and would probably plow them over. It would be funny to see some little 4 cylinder beat the big boys.

Hey, it would be something easy, quick, fun, different and cheap! (Like a good date)

Rex, I remember those dates. Don't remember them being that cheap though....

Better yet - have one racecar, kart, what have you, for the SLALOM race (Boneman is a European hatemonger), have the fans enter their ticket for a drawing, pick 10 tickets each night, fastest fan through the course gets free admission to next week's race and a coupon for a free hamburger, drink and fries at the concession stand. Fastest time for the year gets a nice big trophy.

NSS, when you use this brilliant idea, just be sure to give me free Yuengling every time I come to a race and we'll call it even.

Come on T-mac, you've got to get your mind off the ghetto girls and back on racing where it belongs. I know you are a sucker for a weave, but this is a racing weave.

Can you imagine Trippy trying to drive the slalom course? There would be more cones flying around than during "Senior Citizen Day" at the D.M.V.
