It's criminal that SPEED doesn't cover this race live. I remember when TNN used to show late model racing...

Shane Hall, he used to be the man back in the mid to late 90s. Maybe his dad's money dried up when he got to the Busch series, otherwise known as "the buckshot jones syndrome."

I envy all of you that are going to this race. That lineup is the baddest of the bad.

Come on now Jack Tripper, you know Speed doesn't have time to cover the Snowball Derby. That might mean missing time showing episodes of Pinks, Monster Jam, Chop Cut Rebuild, or heck I don't know maybe they already have the prerace show on for the Daytona 500. If you really think about it, Speed is a waste of a network only in the fact it has so much potential, but does so little with it. That reminds me, does anybody know the status of that new racing network that was being discussed here a few months ago?

PS- TNN covered races in the late 1980's on the Sunday night show called the American Sports Calvalcade.

Bubba... you're gonna LOVE it there. Last year was one of my all-time top 5 races that I've been to. And I've seen probably close to 600 races.
The entire city of Pensacola gets behind this race, and fans from all over the country. The only thing on asphalt that is comparable is the "old" All American 400 in Nashville, but they didn't get near as many weekend campers up there. Even the parking lot at the Snowball is fun!

Also, make sure you go have a cold beer with the Burkhalters, parked outside of turn 3. Those boys know how to have some fun!

Going by name alone, I might agree, but there are a bunch of people on that list that may not have name recognition that have decent equipment and probably have a pretty good shot. If the qualifying is as tight as last year, I would say pretty much anybody in the field has a shot.

Who are the 14 you think are gonna do it? Actually, I'd be willing to bet that at least 5 of those 14 don't qualify, based on some of the names that have not made in recent years. And if all 14 did, it would represent almost half the field.
