Update...New Smyrna Speedway/Orlando SpeedWorld

[New Smyrna Speedway]

As announced in the Driver's meeting last night, effective immediately New Smyrna Speedway and Orlando SpeedWorld will no longer hold practice the night before a special event (except the Governor's Cup). We will open the pit gate earlier to ensure that you get enough practice time on race day. In addition, teams will no longer be able to rent NSS or OSW within 7 days of any special race. This rule will apply to all divisions.

The schedules are in the final stages and should be finished by the end of the week. The typing of the rule book will be completed this week and should be available online by the first of next week. It will be sent to the printer immediately.

We would like to thank everyone (Drivers and Fans) who came out last night for the Red Eye. It was one of the best race nights we've had in a while. We truly appreciate the support everyone has shown us.

There was definitely some fan feedback incorporated throughout the show and it made a big difference. A few minor rough edges but lightyears ahead of my last visit. If you can keep the car counts up, you are on to something. Having seen as much racing as I have over the years, I am tough to please as a fan - I know what I like and I know what I dont like. The Red Eye show was definitely of the "what I like" category. Now if you can get that beer girl from VSP speedweeks and a pork sammich....
