  • Miss Florida Motorsports 2010

I like the discussions on this board that address the aging of our race fans. Its so important to start winning some new fans, especially younger ones.

Since I am an armchair quarterback, I've added a promotional idea page to my site. Check out the Miss Florida Motorsports concept. It would be so cool if someone took on this project and ran with it.

Yanno, ya might be onto something there! Even if it doesn't get young people to the track, it'll give us old farts something to look at.

      I am on board

Let me be the first to throw my hat in as the official photographer for this great idea. I am sure Jim Jones and Rick Warren will be right behind me so I wanted to get in first.

That is a GREAT IDEA. On eof the best parts about DIRT was the Miss Motorsports. She alone would add butts in the seats at any track.
I hioe I do not push someones Button but
"SEX SELLS" period. I do not care where or what put a pretty girl in and the sales go UP.
We had a young lady tour with us in 1986 and our sales at the car shows where NEVER HIGHER. Nothing skimpy, gown and all First Class. Wives did not get mad and the guys spent more at the booth than ever before.
YOu have a Winner I hope someone pick up on it.
Well back ti licking or beating wounds we took in 2008!!!

it would really make this killer if you had a powder puff race at the end of the night for all of the contestants in a 4 cyl bomber or strictly stock race.

half the nights score comes from the bikini contest, half from their finish in the powder puff. or maybe a 66/34 split?

IMHO, this is the best promotional idea I've seen on this board in awhile.... There are all sorts of possibilities.

When the old NDRA Series was in high gear (dirt late models first national touring series) in the early 80's, they had a trophy girl named Eva Brown (I might be remembering her last name wrong). She wore a thong (before people knew what thongs were), and she was MORE popular than any driver. Guys would line up to get their picture taken with her, and to get her autograph. She was mobbed at every race I saw her at. I can't remember some of the winners of those races, but I sure remember her.

I wish the tracks could develop something like this..... Miss Florida Motorsports 2010. I like it!!!

OK you Transplants from the North, LIKE ME.
Every track had a trophy girl and then there was the Miss MotorSports contest. ADD to that the Rod and Custom ladies and of course the NASCAR girls at each track.
Remember that there was always a photo shoot ON TRACK with the girls and the Winning drivers. Then after the races you tried to get pictures of the girls WITHOUT your wife/girlfriend finding out

Boneman hit a winner and now it needs to be pitched to ALL the tracks for EACH to get a trophy girl and have a contest among those girls from each track for the title. Now you have something that can be sold to a sponsor and the fans. Pick a central INDOOR arena for the contest and ADD to it a MotorSports type of static display and sell BOOTH space to vendors and you have a Southern version of the DIRT deal in New York. Very well attended and supported.

Can you just see an arena in Orlando or Daytona with that type of an ADDED draw that was held BEFORE speed weeks 2010, say in November around the middle of the month so you do not get burned by the Turkey Rod Run in Daytona.

IF 2009 is better than 2008 was my company, WHEN WE SURVIVE 2008, will gladly take a booth and maybe something else.

i don't know what kind of crack i was smoking but it must have been good.

nobody cares if Miss America can play the Xylophone or dance the Charleston. no more than 20% for finishing position and i could see splitting it 70/15/15 if you added a personality/racing knowledge portion to the contest.

I met someone who makes a living running kids beauty pageants. She has some connections in that business, and knows who has a modern stage built on a flatbed. We had a long talk about this. She is looking over the proposal to see if it is workable, and if she is interested in working it.

Did you notice that New Smyrna is having a "Miss NSS" contest on opening night? Great!

BTW: Any "Miss Motorsports" contest should also be open to "MILF Motorsports" entries, for those of us who like 'em all grown up.

i don't see why not. i've never noticed age interfering with a woman's ability to wreck a perfectly good car.

i take it this means you'll be bringing your better half to the track?
