  • Kaiden needs your prayers

My 11 month old grandson Kaiden is very sick right now and could use some extra prayers. He has been sick now for almost 2 months and yesterday they found out his white count is very, very low and if it does not come up by tomorrow, they will have to put him in the hospital. He is the sweetest baby, always smiling, but he just can't seem to get well.

He is on a breathing machine 4 times a day, too many antibotics, steroids, etc. and daycare is not making him any better. Yesterday I refused to send him to daycare because his poor little nose was running like a river and I just could not send him there so when his mom got off work, she took him to the hospital and we found out about his white count. I have a dear friend in Pensacola who has offered blood if Kaiden needs it for the white count but I pray he does not.

Christmas is for kids and we are trying to give Kaiden a well first Christmas but this sure is hard. I have told his mom that I will gladly stay with him in the hospital since there is no way I will leave him in there alone while she works. I never left my own kids alone in the hospital when they were sick and had surgeries, I surely won't leave my grandson there alone either.

But if you could, please say an extra prayer for Kaiden that he does get better and will have a happy, healthy first Christmas.

    Thank you - Jane

Thanks Bob, I do appreciate it. He has been in the hospital twice now with pneumonia but he has just never really gotten well yet. They have put him on so many antibotics that now they don't seem to work for him anymore. He has been sick every since the day he was born with lung problems. They tried to say it was because he was a c-section baby but that is not the reason now. But for being so sick most of the time, he is one happy baby and loves to smile and laugh. Just wish they would figure this out and get him well.

      Thanks again - Jane

Thanks. I just got a call from Ashley, Kaiden's mom. He is definitely got to be put back into the hospital since his breathing is much worse and the medicine is not working. I will be staying with him during the day while mom works and at night if she needs me to. There is no way I am going to let a 11month old baby be in the hospital alone with nurses only who he does not know. But if someone can help me buy some diapers for Kaiden, I would appreciate it. He is totally out and right now I have about 1.00 to my name and need help there. The hospital says that we need to bring them since they really only keep diapers for newborns so if you can help me there, I would be most grateful. If you rather buy diapers and send them, he needs a size 4. You can send them to 20 Ocean Street, Merritt Island, Florida 32952.

I know this is a bad time to need help but I could definitely use diaper help. Kaiden will be with me for awhile after he comes home since there is no way I am going to send him to daycare now, mom will just have to adjust to that. But I could use help with diapers and food for him. Right now I just don't have any money at all and could use alittle help with my grandson.

I will keep you updated on his condition but please keep Kaiden in your prayers.

            Love, Jane

I cannot say thank you enough right now. Kaiden is not doing well right now, he has iv's in both arms and coughing badly. It looks to be a long haul this time and his white count is dropping. I will be with him all tomorrow at the hospital and will let everyone know how he is tomorrow night when I get home. So far there are diapers on the way and a gift certificate to help buy him food. From the bottom of my heart, I say thank you for your kindness. Just right now I am not working and have no money coming in which makes it very hard to take care of him but I am determined that he won't go back into daycare until way after he is well. So thank you everyone for your kindness.

                Always, Jane

Good morning Jane. If we wanted to send you some Christmas Cheer, would it be sent to the Merritt Island address you gave above? Would we make it out to you? We have a little bit left and would like to send you some.

Great seeing you at the Truckers 200 a few weeks ago.

Yes Jim, send it to my Merritt Island address since Kaiden will be here for awhile when he does finally get out of the hospital. I just called, am fixing to go up there, and he had a very bad night and his white count has still not improved. A very dear friend of mine in Pensacola, whom I have never met in person but have been friends for well over 10 years because of racing, has offered blood in case we do need it. I don't know that he will need blood but I know when Julie's white count went way down, they did give her blood but I just don't know yet with Kaiden. Since he has been on so many antibotics since he was born, they are having a hard time finding one that will work on him and maybe that is why he just can't seem to get over the pneumonia.

For the first 8 months of his life, his mom would not let us see him, hold him, be with him. She was mad at my son and just cut us all out but she turned around finally and now we have him alot. Thank goodness she did because every child needs all their family especially at a time like this. And her parents don't really like Kaiden and say he is a brat and cries all the time for them but he has never done that for me. I think he just feels how much they don't want him around and I do.

But thank you Jim. Right now anything helps with me not working and having nothing really coming in except Alex's SSI. My other kids are old enough to fend for themselves right now but Kaiden is not and I have to be able to feed him. So thank you from the bottom of my heart.

                    Always, Jane
