  • Christmas parade - not racing, but...

I built a float for the Titusville Christmas parade last night. What a blast we had! It was for my kid's karate school. I swear we had 50 people involved in and around it.

Todd McCreary came to help by driving my truck that pulled the float. We got black flagged twice and were sent to the rear of the parade on both occasions. Currently the judging of the floats is held up, pending the outcome of our protest, until the parade board meets on Tuesday. All in all, a typical night!

That is so cool Rex. Last night I gave my grandson Jeremy and Alex a choice, the parade in Titusville or the boat parade in Cocoa Beach. Well, they decided the boat parade which was a BIG MISTAKE. Worst boat parade I have seen in a long time, Merritt Island's is much better and next weekend which I will go to that one.

I wanted to go to Titusville since their parade is at night and I love the lights but I took them where they wanted to go. So sorry I missed it, would have loved to have seen you and Todd and your float. Maybe next year if I survive this year. Seems my ex-daughter-in-law decided to borrow some money from me (without my knowledge) and has definitely put a damper on Christmas altogether for me. Dad gave me all his change and Alex, Jeremy and I rolled change last night for hours (88.50) which will help. But I guess she needed my money more than I did since she borrowed it without asking and I can't get it back. Oh well, sh-- happens to the best of us.

Merry Christmas and I loved your float and so happy Mr. Todd was the driver. Glad you had a ball!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our float ended up winning third place....which happens to be the first trophy for Todd in 2008!

We had protested the Elk's lodge float for improper use of elves, but the protest was thrown out.

On a serious note, the shooting happened a few blocks west of the parade, in "the hood" section of Titusville. Time will tell, but at this point I'll wager anyone that it was a crack deal gone bad.

Few people knew about it until the next morning. No matter what, I just hope everyone recovers ok.

Rarely does any crack deal go good.

yeah, it's amazing the thing was still that fast after i rolled it down the front stretch.

what happened to the school buses? you promised at the end of the parade i'd get to jump 20 of them.
