That was back when Bob Harmon had a rif with Five Flags Speedway and the Snowball Derby. The entries were good, but going head to head with the Snowball hurt. Unfortunately it hurt both races somewhat but the Snowball prevailed.

At Palm Beach Dick Trickle won one race finished third in the other.Mike Eddy finished second in both races.Roger Boone had a new Hanley car and wrecked it in either a heat race or the first 100 lapper,cut apart the tire rack from the trailer and built it enough to run in the second race.
