  • What are you most thankful for since tomorrow is Thanksigiving Day

I am thankful that I still have my dad after a very rough year this year in and out of the hospital and that my dearest and oldest friend Julie has been thru her stem cell transplant and home right now. Julie still has a ways to go for the next 3 months but she survived and she is here now. And I am thankful for all my friends who have been there for me thru this even though they never knew dad or Julie. The prayers you have given them has meant the world to them and me.

And I am most thankful for all the people who came to Forever Florida last Saturday and had dad signing books for 6 hours straight. Not once did he use his oxygen and he never turned blue and was fine. Of course the minute he and my brother Rick got in the car to go home, he put it on but it really made dad feel great seeing all the people who came to see him and get his books and DVD. Dad is a very humble man and has never once realized jsut how much he is loved by the people of Florida for everything he has done for his adopted state that he loves so much.

Soon, I will have two new grandchildren - Josh is having a boy in January and Kimber is expecting in June, sex unknown. My adopted daughter Jennifer also is expecting and will deliver a month after Kimber. Boy, will I have my hands full.

To all my racing family, I am grateful. I don't always say it but hopefully you know that your friendship has enriched my life even on the bad days.

To everyone, Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy your family, give them the time they deserve because as dad once told me, you never know just how much time we have with them. Today counts more than you know.

        good Year

Jerry You have a lot to be thankful for! obviously you are still breathing. You
        able to take nourishment.
I am thankful mostly for the fact that after a year of mostly unemployment, I am still able to have something to do with the sport I love.
I am thankful for my health, my family, my friends. I have really enjoyed going to different tracks this year. I spent so many years at Desoto I had forgotten the fun of traveling to other shows. I have seen more dirt racing this year than I have ever seen in my life, and I love it. Asphalt is still my first love, but dirts fun.
I must say though that the thing I am most thankful for is that
God has shown me how I can use all this video and photography eguiptment ,that I have collected the last 25 years, for his glory. In fact every thing I own. I am thankful that he has led me to CCMP where I spend most Sat. nights. CCMP is a track where there seems to never be a hassle.
It is a pleasure to go there and see some great racing and smell the smells, see the sights, and hear the sounds that I have loved since I was a boy. I might add thats been a long time now. Thats my 2 cents worth. Thank you Bob..........

I'm thankful that AB195 kept his pants on at the cookout at the Gov Cup. Well, at least as far as I know he kept his pants on.

                Between Jane & Frassy!

i am between Jane and jerry. it has been a difficult year and i pray 2008 is better. HOWEVER!!! there are far more things to be greatful for. first GOD... without Him in my life, i could never get through the tough times. He has blessed me with a wonderful family and the greatest friends! i have a roof over my head, food in the frig, no doctor bills, and a good job... health could be better but i need to do some things to help myself. i need a lipotomy! sew my lips together and leave enough room for a straw!
so with all that said, in spite of it all i am very thankful for my blessings... oh one more thing...
i am so very thankful for all of the people who are out there securing our safety and our freedoms! Soldiers, firemen, and law enforcement... thank you for the sacrifices you make and the dangers you face so bravely...God keep you safe and i hope all our military will be home soon so they too may eat a Thanksgiving meal with their loved ones!
Thank you jane for starting this thread. it feels good to know that life isnt so bad afterall...

Always have things to be thankful for !

First and foremost I am thankful for Jesus Christ my personal savior who died on the cross, was buried, and rose again on the third day to be the sacrifice for all who will believe in him. I am thankful I have accepted him and put my faith in him for eternal life and all his blessings. I am thankful he gave me a wonderful Christian wife of now 24 years, two girls who also accepted Christ and now live for and serve him. They make me complete. I am thankful for so many friends I have all around this country and world now, the racing community which is part of my mission field and who I can serve. I am thankful for health, the breath of life and the abilities God has givne to me to be able to care for my family. I am thankful to be able to help people like The Hopkins and the Helmicks, it is such a blessing to give and to serve. I have so much to thankful for, so much to treasure and I do. Yep I have bad days, make mistakes, suffer tragedies like everyone else. I am thankful to have a God that will never leave me or forsake me and who forgives me and loves me. To all I wish a very wonderful Thanksgiving, one with family, thanks and love. To all who have helped me, supported the Charity a special thanks to you today ! God Bless,

                    I know i am Thankful

I know i am very THANK Full for still being here, I was told a year ago i would not be here. I had lung cancer six years ago, they removed my right lung. But when they did there was a small piece that they couldnt get out that was setting on my chest wall inside. And has been growing ever since. More less i got push around and shoved to curb side on it. But i was told last year i would & only had less than a year, last Oct. Well yes i am still here.

Reason is yes the good lord is taken care of me, along with my son that passed away with cancer in 89. He was 4 yrs old.
As well as for all the my husband Rick that i couldnt ask for more. He is the greatest & has always been there to take care of me, thru all my sickness & every day i fight these battles . May not act or look like i am.
I am so thank full for having him.

But i have been around Racing since i was abt 7 yrs old. And my heart & soul is in it too stay.
And it helps me to fight the going battles i deal with everyday.

We just want to say too so many kind people we know in Racing, that we
                    our Thank Full for you.
For being there as a Friend, Staff Employees, Associates.

And to AUBURNDALE, OCALA, C.C.M.P., DESOTO
They had no promblem giving us a track to race at.
And for all our 66 Sponsors for 2007 & 2008

I am thankful for family and friends. I am thankful to have the courage to walk away from what was a bad friendship with someone who always said they were a Christian but wasn't and I have been able to move on. I am thankful to know we are getting closer everyday to finding a cure for diabetes so my son can live a normal life. I have a wonderful husband who does get on my nerves sometimes but I am still thankful to have him and love him very much. I am thankful to have a roof over our heads, enough money to get by and I have made it through another year. I am thankful for my health because I know it could be a lot worst. I am also thankful to know Christ as my personal Saviour and have dedicated my life to him.

I pray for a better year next year for one and all! Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!!!

I am thankful for The Lord and his death on the cross for each of us. My country and all the freedoms that go with living in the U.S.A. For all the men and women that have gone to war for us. My wife and kids and grandkids. My brother and his family. My Mom and Dad. My job that I have enjoyed for 34 years. The friends I have made in the racing family over the past 17 years. And there are many things else that I don't have the time nor space for on here.

                              Thankful for alot, my friends.
My Folks are in Town this week from Las Vegas, where the reside, and they're just merely checking up on their favorite kid; my sister.
Just kidding, they stopped by my house to critique my Life, and I filled them in the best I could. Sent Mom to the mall for shopping, she loves that.
Pushing 80, they are, yessirree, and as upbeat and chipper as you can imagine.
However, as in the Field Of Dreams Movie, I pulled my old, worn out, tired baseball gloves from the closet shelf, and the Old Man and I were going to have "a catch or two".

Having a "Catch with my Dad."
Something we did as far back as 40 years ago.
He painstakingly hobbled to the back yard, trying the best he could to muster up the energy for a toss or two, his feet hurt, arthritis and other ailments which have kept him sore here and there: but he flexed his itty-bitty chest that is left, snarled and coughed, and tossed some heated sliders and curveballs which I didn't expect, and stinging my hand all along.
The Old Man still has it. And I, being on the receiving end of it, and tossing the ball back slowly, as he can't see all that well to catch it, was more than happy, and feeling fortunate to still have this in my life, as simple as it is.
                              For that, I am Thankful.
Mom came back with a whole lot of cool stuff for my house, too.
