  • New Tour for retired Nascar drivers... check this out

Just saw a web-site that has a new Tour listed, running at tracks such as Eldora, Nashville, South Boston.... and NEW SMYRNA SPEEDWAY in 2008, with a 10 race schedule, with a 2-day Championship series held at NSS in February of 2009. Check out these top-notch talents they have on the drivers list:
    00 Johnny Rumley
    32 Tim Fedewa
    75 Bob Schacht
    08 Bobby Dotter
    44 Andy Santerre
    92 Larry Pearson
    7 Harry Gant
    46 Carl Long
    98 Larry Pollard
    11 Andy Hillenburg
    48 James Harvey Hylton
    Geoff Bodine
    11 Jack Ingram
    59 Robert Pressley
    Derrike Cope
    12 Ronnie Silver
    63 Chuck Bown
    Phil Parsons
    14 Larry Moore
    71 Dave Marcis
    Tracy Leslie
    21 David Pearson
    74 Randy LaJoie
    Joe Ruttman
    25 Bill Venturini

Before you get too excited, lets see if it really does come to pass. They do have drivers, tracks and a schedule. But if it DOES, it will be worth seeing I'm sure!

I'll definitely go to NSS for that race, but they need to change their eligibility requirements. Some of those guys shouldn't be in there.

Tim Fedewa? Carl Long? Derrike Cope? These guys just aren't good enough to get and keep a ride these days. Derrike Cope still races in trucks and busch. And Carl Long still races late models.

Bet they'll race in Bandolero Cars, or Mini-Cups. Hope not.

If you go to the site it shows them building the cars under the "production" header. THey look like a combo of Hooters cars and latemodels.

I kind of wonder why they did not just scrape up the IROC cars or even the now useless cup cars. ANyway, it looks like they will have cars to race.

July 3rd should be a good night at NSS. The "old school" race along with the CLyde Hart 200.

Looks like it could be fun to watch.

I've seen David Pearson race a couple of times on dirt in charity races before moving to Florida. The guy is still a racer and just as aggressive as he ever was. James Hylton has retired so many times I've lost count, and he is as competitive as Pearson. Heck, I might go just to say hello to Pearson again. I haven't seen him since my family and I moved away from Boiling Springs SC over 5 years ago. I wonder if he will remember me?

That series would surely be worth seeing!
Normalcy is a myth. what is perfectly normal for the Cheetah, Becomes absolute chaos for the Antelope.

I'm surprised they didn't say anything about it at the Governors Cup on Saturday night. Seems to me it would have been a great time to start pumping it up.

How about an old SLM series. Hanley, Eddy, Senneker, Miller, Trickle, Ridley, guys like that.
