  • Gov. Cup BBQ... who's coming?

Who all is coming? We'd like to figure out some kind of ballpark figure of how many are coming this year.

Boneman and Palmbayer have graciously offered to help with the expenses, which is very much appreciated.

    Basic plan:

We are arriving somewhere around Noon, parking over near the shade trees on the left of the ticket booth, on the north edge of grassy area.

We are popping a top somewhere around 11 seconds after that.

I'll throw some coals on around 1-2, and have a little bit of stuff cooking all afternoon, or until food runs out... (no chance of beer running out).

If anyone wants to bring something for the grill, I'll be glad to cook it up for you, and let you know when it's done... spend your time socializing, I'll take care of the cooking.

Head into the track approximately 3 laps into the parade laps, just in time to watch the green fly.

Take a leak when the first caution comes out for Robert Yoho (sorry Robert, had to throw that one in!)

Watch 275 laps of great racing.

Head to the car, leave the Speedway, turn North, and head for SGMP in Adel, GA.

Get a few hours sleep in the car, brush teeth, and repeat most of the steps above!

I'm a game time decision, Jerry. The cold weather has me worried. Call me a fair-weather fan if you'd like. Odds are I may just go to East Bay. There will still be more cars there. But I am officially going to the Snowball Derby!

I should be there mid-afternoon. I'll bring 10-12ish homebrews for those that promise to cheer for Wayne Anderson. I've got quite a few cream ales and a couple of belgian wheat ales I brewed a few months ago. Word to the wise now - I need the bottles back. I can also bring some hot dogs and chips if you like.

And for those of you that haven't had the misfortune of meeting me, my black glasses are a dead giveaway. Think the Verizon guy...

Gonna try and get there around 6ish. Gonna TRY and get outta work around 4 if I can, then leave straight from there. I-4 traffic on a Saturday afternoon-evening isn't very dependable. Might have to take the long way up and over.

Hope to see some of y'all there....this could be girlfriend's very first stock car race! ;-)
