Dang, they're snagging our Governor's Cup regulars - Justin Drawdy and Fain Skinner. Couple of other Lake City guys in there too.

Wonder if Skinner and Drawdy are getting tow money or something to not run the Governor's Cup. That sucks, I like both of those guys.

They are NOT getting extra money to come. Drawdy runs different CRA Major events over the past couple of years and Fain Skinner ran most of the last part of the season as a regular at SGMP in the Pro Late Models.

While some people might resort to "Buying" drivers away from other races, we would not.

There are going to be two great shows going on this weekend, and a lot of fans will get to take advantage of both, if they like.

I hear ya man! Can't wait for this weekend.

My guess is that we will see about 50-60 different Late Models this weekend. That hasn't happened in a long time, other than the Snowball Derby. .

And I still wish there was a Last Chance event that a few adventurous Governors Cup guys could make a last-minute tow, and join in with the CRA guys at SGMP. It's a shame that the rules packages are just a little too far apart, and that the race formats (at both tracks) don't encourage the participation at both events.

Just got word that Wayne Anderson is doing "The Double"!

He's going to practice a car at SGMP Friday, leave the car, go to NSS with another car to practice that night. Saturday he'll be at NSS all day/night, and someone else will qualifying his car at SGMP. After Saturday Night, he'll head back to SGMP to race on Sunday!

Although he's not a favorite of mine, I really admire that he has the desire and stamina to pull this off.

              Very cool move Wayne!

Just my opinion, for whats it's worth. This is a perfect example of the frustrations of asphalt racing. SGMP did NOT have to run this race this weekend, and even if they did, they could do qualifying and the race on Sunday to give race teams that wanted to run both events a chance to do so. I can't make both events so I am forced to choose. So, in my own way of protesting, I am going to neither, and I am going to watch dirt at VSP Saturday night.

I certainly understand your compassion and concern, although because of the rules, not many could or would want to cross over and do both.

However, from a fan's perspective, I understand your frustration. Don't take it out on the Govenor's Cup though. If that's they way you feel, go to New Smyrna, they didn't do anything wrong schedule-wise.

[QUOTE=Speedweeks junkie;18478] they could do qualifying and the race on Sunday to give race teams that wanted to run both events a chance to do so.

I agree, but greed overrules common sense for the extra day for sales at the track and the megadollar drivers that got this " i gotta have a practice day before the show" BS started in the 1st place. I blame tracks AND drivers for that one.

So, in my own way of protesting, I am going to neither

This is the other thing killing the sport.

I have been to more than one 4 day race weekends here in NC with 4-5 divisions starting on thursday and ending on sunday. I saw the same cars in each division at 4 different tracks in 4 days for 1 day shows and NOBODY complained.

Everyone needs to get with the program or all we will have to watch is drifting and smash-o-bang-o-ramas.

And yes, these were dirt shows.

Not busting your chops speedweeks but your statement about the problem with asphalt racing (which i prefer) is right in line.

What's the main difference in the rules for the Governers cup and the CRA?

Modified drivers going - Alan Bruns, Jason Garver, Wayne Jefferson, Jerry Symons, Tank Tucker and maybe Alan McCafferty. I wish them all good luck and have fun.

Just to clarify, I wasnt saying Fascar or NSS did anything wrong, but more to the fact that it seems the asphalt tracks do not work together and thus we as fans suffer because they are splitting up car counts which are lower than they have ever been to begin with. Whether or not the rules are slightly different or not, I can see a least a few drivers that always come to the governors cup that won't be there.

and yes, I also agree that any shows dirt or asphalt that are less than 75 cars should be able to be run in one day.

The Oxford 250 in Maine is. They still had more than 80 LMS cars this year + 2support divisions, Kevin Harvick won the race.

Pays 25,000 to win + 100 per lap led, so a possibilty of 50,000 $.
