More info and entry form at: http://www.craracing.net/events/race...gmp112308.html

This is an 8 Tire Max race.

Many people feel that due to track configuration and weight breaks, that Limiteds and Crates will be VERY competitive with the Supers for this 250 lap event.

While it is still early, and there usually a number of late entries, there are currently only 20 pre-entries for 36 spots at $1000 to start. The early entry deadline has been extended so you can still save money on your entry if you act soon!

We fully expect the Florida Spec Supers to be at NSS to support their legendary race, The Governors Cup. This message is really for the teams with cars that weren't competiting at the Governor's Cup. There are many racers in the panhandle, other parts of Florida and the rest of the country, that this event was built to cater to...and in no way should be viewed as competing with the Governor's Cup even though they are on the same day...the different rules and different locale should keep both events healthy!

We hope that you join us for this exciting inaugural event!

We'll be seeing you there R.J.

Going to the Governors Cup first, and leaving right from there headed to SGMP. Should be a great weekend of racing at both tracks!

I have to ask, whats the deal with the scheduling? Why couldnt this race be a week sooner or later? Now what is hurting short tracks?

Looking at the entry list, only 3 drivers had to make a choice (Drawdy, Skinner and Shelnut) of where to go. As for fans, it looks like me, Palmbayer and possibly Edm are the only ones going to both.

The Florida guys aren't supporting this race, and the CRA guys aren't supporting New Smyrna... basically, it's comparing apples with oranges. I don't really see where there is a real-life conflict.

True, it would be very nice if BOTH groups of cars would support BOTH races, but it's not going to happen, no matter what days either race is scheduled. I also wish there was a last-chance race at SGMP on Sunday, so that anyone wishing to make a last-minute blast up the Interstate would have a chance to make both races. I'd LOVE to see Rogers, Anderson, Russell, Choquette and about 10 more load up after the Gov. Cup and head North instead of heading home.

There should be a high quality field for both, but each race would be much better if both groups ran both races!

P.S. - Don't forget, I don't believe that Don Nerone and RJ Scott are on each others Christmas card list anymore either!

A week later is Thanksgiving and a week from the Derby, and a week earlier is going against the final Cup race. Its actually a little tougher on the fans than the teams...with the engine differences, there aren't too many Governor's cup teams that would do the SGMP race. Its like the Derby in that regard. They are largely different sets of racers.

I wish I could come up and run the mod race had planned on it but will be helping someone at the governors cup. I could be wrong but I don't think you can run a Florida Super Late Spec Motor at a CRA event anymore. Like I said not sure but it what I was told. I hope everything goes good and the modified race is a big success and hope you have another one.

The Florida Super Late Spec Motor would carry 50 extra lbs and 1% less left side for this special non-points event. For that reason, we are not aware of any coming to SGMP, as they'll be at Govenor's Cup without penalty.

Man, I wish these 2 races were a week apart. It not only hurts the tracks for car counts but it hurts the fans like myself. I am gonna try to make it but it will put a hurtin on me come Monday mornin.
