    In Spite of Everything, I am Celebrating Today

    Today is my birthday and in spite of the rotten year I have had and the fact that I have lost my best friend, Julie would want me to celebrate today. She always told me birthdays count because we are still here and that is why we celebrated her 50th birthday this year in style. She got to go on her Alaska cruise, her dream, and I am going out to dinner with mom and Alex which is a treat for me.

    Also HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Mike Franklin, Jr. Hope you have a wonderful day for your birthday also because they do matter.

        Mom and I went to eat at Sunset Cafe in Cocoa Beach and had a nice dinner with Alex. Mom is not use to being out at night and was surprised how dark it is on a new moon. Mom and dad go to bed with the chickens and get up with the chickens, that means they are in bed when it is dark and up when it is light. But it was a really nice day and night.

        All I can say to everyone is birthdays are important. I know they mean we are getting older but they are still important. We need to celebrate them whether we are turning 40 or 81. Of course I have decided that 39 is a very good number to stay at so it is a good day for staying 39 forever. But I do appreciate all the wishes since this has been a really hard and sad year for me but like one friend wrote me, next year has to be better.
