This is retarded! This the exact thing that I have been talking about. New Symrna is going to have a 50 lap Sportsman race this weekend so why dont we schedule one at Citrus as well. I got it, while we are at it, why dont we go ahead and schedule one at Auburndale too. I dont know whos was scheduled first and I dont care but this is the perfect example of tracks not working together.
Before someone beats me to the punch, I know the rules are different but I also know that Nss will allow Citrus cars to run as Citrus will allow fascar sportsmen to run.Last edited by Edm; 10-29-2008, 03:49 PM.

you'd better talk to Nerone before you complain to anybody else. he's all the time scheduling Tour races in on top of NSS and OSW and Columbia County. if FASCAR can't get their own act together how could it even be possible for any other track in the state to think about working with them?
in this way, Lakeland going away is actually a 'good' thing. at least now Rusty won't have to be cancelling Mod and Late Model races at OSW because "somehow" there's a FASCAR Tour race scheduled the same or next weekend at Lakeland.Racers Supporting Racers - for all your Vero Beach area automotive repair needs:

It would surprise me if Citrus was the one adding a show. They seem to have a set schedule before the season starts, and sticks to it. Have you EVER seen them adding a show/class or Tour along the way? The Fascar tracks do it almost weekly, sometimes in the middle of that week.
I'll almost bet that Citrus had this on their schedule somewhere around February or March.

I'm sure Citrus will allow them to run, they won't because the rules are so much different. NSS sportsman are close to Citrus Streetstocks on 8in slicks. If NSS let Citrus Sportsman run over there with Citrus rules, it would not be a fair race, cars are not the same. Citrus Sportsman are almost limited late models on a treaded 8in racing tire, 3 link, fiberglass bodies, ect.
So we are really comparing apples to oranges here, and in the past, Citrus does not get that many cars from NSS or Orlando no matter what the race or payout. So worring about their schedules is almost pointless. If it was Auburdale or Charlotte then you might have an arguement, there is some cross over between those tracks because the rules are much closer in most divisions.

Here is another point to think about. It might be that I dont race that much to care. This isnt directed at anyone, BUT Too many drivers whine and cry about he has this and he has that. They let that slide and he did that. Just listen to the crap that goes on around the tech sheds. Stand around the tech shed at OSW after a super stock race or the sportsman race one night and just listen. Almost comical but sad that grown men and women act like little kids.
Racers, I have a great idea, Shut the F up and race. What the hell happened to sportsmanship?
Track owners and promoters, Do what you can to keep the tracks open.
Dont schedule big races on the same night as other tracks. In fact it would be a great idea not to run that class at all if another track is having a big event.

Citrus has had the 50 lapper on the schedule all year. It's the last points race of the year. The sportsman have more of a LLM rule set up and can't run with SSS. SSS allows closed chamber head, not Citrus. Citrus allows 3 link and crossovers with no cam lift rule, not SSS. Maybe next year the rules can allow all these cars to run together........I hope.
-----JIM----RIP Jack Smith and Kim Brown. Many thanks for all you have done for our sport.
