My guess was gonna be, "Whoever started on the pole!"

Please tell me it was a good race. For once, I'd love to be proven wrong.

      Jerry,

To the drivers and their crews and their families, every race is a good race. I doubt it is boring to them because they put their hard work and money into that car to race and unlike you or me, they are working hard in that car to win. So I never consider any race boring or not worthwhile to go to because I respect what goes into that team to race and even get to a race.

Last night at Orlando we had 11 hurricanes in our feature race and even one Classic car. I had no other Classics so I put him in their feature race so he would have some fun. Well, that was one wild race because Ron McCreary was in it with his pink 1.3 car and started dead last. It was a mixture for sure but it was also the best and most fun race of the night. Watching Ron work his way thru the field and Wayne in his classic car. They had FUN and that is the name of the game, HAVE FUN. When the fun leaves for the driver and the fan, then racing is no longer their cup of tea.

Congratulations to Daniel, he has had a very good year. And I look forward to seeing all the guys and gals at Orlando on November 7th for their Championship race.

Jerry... it was a good race... Keene started 3rd (set quick time and drew a 3)...

Behind him... it was on for 2nd on back... it was a good race though...

Best race of the night however, was, as luck would have it, the last race, the Modified feature... Michael Williams driving the #40 and Jeff Colburn (#3) went side by side for the last four laps for the lead with Alan Bruns (#4B) looking on in third just waiting for someone to slip up...

Williams took the win (on the OUTSIDE) ahead of Colburn and Bruns.

All in all it was another good night at Florida's Fastest Short-Track... The High-Banked Half-Mile... New Smyrna Speedway!

          Oh...well then......

So he passed a whole TWO cars for the win?

Just imagine if he had pulled say.....a FOUR! That's reaching deeeeeeeeeeep into the field then. I hope he didn't have to sweat too much in that old, hot, noisy race car on his long march to the front of that snarling pack which I'm sure was nipping at his heels and awaiting any small slip up he may have made.

          WHADDACROCKASHEET

That's an old Indian term that was used back when the young braves would race their colts around the wigwams to see who was the fastest. When some of them whined that there were too many other horses and braves getting in the way, the tribal elders decided to allow the fastest horses to start in front of the others. Thus breaking the spirit of the other riders and horses causing them to take up other hobbies such as scalping the white devils and making fire water. Soon thereafter, most of the tribe got bored watching three or four braves who just liked to go as fast as they could with their horses' noses and tails rubbing up against each other for long periods of time. So they found other things to do like drink their firewater while they watched the braves who were chased off before as they played a new game with sticks and rocks. Some of the elders who missed the way things used to be looked at each other and all they could say was "whaddacrockasheet".

I think a better way, to reward the efforts of those hard working crews and Daddy Warbucks who lay out out all that cash AND the fans who spend their hard earned moola that come to watch these epic battles, would be to give them a better show with all the excitement of charging from the rear of the field and passing as many cars as it takes on the way to the checkered flag.

          But maybe I'm wrong.

Speaking of the modifieds , i heard it was a pretty good race , but after the meetings that were held , i was surprised to hear that more cars didn't show up . Where were Jerry Symons , Tank Tucker , Lee Collins etc ? I hope i don't get " saving our cars for the big race " .

I wonder why you would even schedule a race for a class that has a 100 lapper the next week. I'm still fixing mine from last Friday night at OSW and had no plans of running this past Saturday night. Yes I'm saving mine for the 100 lapper. I can't speak for Jerry,Tank or anyone else but just for me. I think some guys are looking the cost of running a regular night then going back the next week and running a big race.
