Those things are certainly amazing in detail, I just look at that and say, "why?"
For that price, you could own this and drive it yourself:

Why? because they can I guess. I should have bought one of those instead of the vintage. Less problems! I looked into the quarter scale cars but they do not look as good as these. Problem is where can you race them?Originally posted by JackTripper View PostThose things are certainly amazing in detail, I just look at that and say, "why?"

For those who like ''all the same'' type Spec car, here's the new breed.

I took a close look at one of their sprint car(more like a midget) last week end, very well made, it's not a toy, it's a race machine.
And those cars will be run under ''one common sets of rules'' throughout the whole North America. So the table is set for you guys, for a monster event during speedweek. And they run both dirt and asphalt.

Very impressive looking class. At first I wondered if they would need to stick to very small tracks (1/4 mile and under), which Florida doesn't have very many of. Then I saw pictures of the asphalt Mini-Sprint styled cars racing at Oswego Speedway, home of the Supermodifieds... probably the toughest 5/8 mile track in the country.
Looking through the Drivers Rosters also, I saw some pretty big names who have been in these cars... Ray Evernham, Erin Crocker, Billy Pauch, Gary Heiber (Silver Crown series), Craig Von Dohren, Billy Van Pelt, Patrick Carpentier and Richie Tobias. Also lots of 2nd generation racers, Paul Lotier Jr, (Paul Sr.), Chase Matteson (Colin), Willie Evernham (Ray), Alex Schoffstall (Dave), Tiffany Wambold (George), and Bobby Hackell (Bob).
I am also impressed with the price list for replacement parts, so you know what your costs ARE... not always trying to outspend each other on the latest gizmos.
These things look like a BLAST... I'll HAVE to see them race someday.
