  • Ticket Prices for ASA race at CCMP

I am a true Florida Race fan and I enjoy traveling around to the different tracks when possible. I have been looking everywhere for prices and decided to call the race track to find out. I was and still am so shocked that front gate admission to the track is 25.00 and if you chose to enter the pits, it is 40.00. WOW!! Talk about a gouge. Think i will just stay home and watch the Rays clinch the division instead. Racing will die at this pace. I do not frequent messages boards and am not too familiar with them either. Someone told me how I could get on one of these and I have been reading so many of your topics here. One of them talks about lowering the admission fees and then I hear this. Thought everyone should know.

Hope everyone can work together and find a solution. Not gouge the average Joe.

Most times, when a track is reeeeaaaaallllllyyy quiet about the ticket price, it's because you'd be floored to hear it.

I've talked to many people that showed up at Lakelands front gate, only to find out it was $30.00 for a TWO division show. Talk about a gouge!

There's not any show, in any division, at any track in Florida (with the exception of Speedweeks) that is worth a penny over $20.00. (I have to make an exception for the Scott Thompson race at Volusia, which was worth WELL over the $15.00 admission we all paid there) Most shows aren't worth a penny over $10.00!

Wanna see how it works when you actually LOWER prices to what people can afford to spend? Look into Thunder Road, in Vermont. They run on Thursday nights, with a $5.00 admission, and have packed the stands and pits for decades in a row now.

Take a quick look at the car counts in the ACT LAte Model class. 114 cars have competed there this year in a late Model!

I hope it financially works out for Bobby and company this weekend, but if the stands are light... all I can say is I hope you will learn from the mistakes.

Since you are talking of Thunder Road, Curley and ACT, we can add this:

Curley’s present-day “spec” crate engine program, Goodyear tire rules, and Koni shock absorber rules have created affordable, exciting racing for fans and competitors on both sides of the U.S./Canadian border. The American-Canadian Tour sanctions the international ACT Late Model Tour, the Québec/Ontario-based Série ACT-Castrol, and weekly events at Thunder Road. Under the ACT umbrella, nearly 360 drivers competed in 2008.

That's what I mean when I talk about:
''One common set of rule''......''Promoters working together''...Etc.

THAT IS TOTALLY INSANE $40.00 to get in the pits , was going to go but not for that price .it doesnt matter if asa rented the track or not, do they not get it,i would rather have 1000 people at $20.00 then 50 at $40.00 . maybe one day they will learn.
