  • FASCAR Lowers Pit Gate Entrance Fee and General Admission to Help Racers and Fans

Samsula, FL (October 13, 2008) After a week of successful meetings with the FASCAR Super Late Model drivers, it has been announced effective immediately there will be a change in the pit gate entrance fee and the grandstand general admisssion fee.

"We really appreciate the drivers being so open and honest," said Race Track Owner Robert Hart. "We all know how hard times are and that there are alot of cars sitting in backyards because they can't afford to race anymore. We really want to try and help them get back to the track and to the sport they love."

"Effective immediate, the back gate will be lowered to $20.00 non FASCAR and $15.00 FASCAR. General admission will be lowered to $10.00, $15.00 for FASCAR Tours, and $20.00 for the Clyde Hart Memorial, Governor's Cup, and Crash-A-Rama at Orlando SpeedWorld. Pit entrance for the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing in Feburary will be $30.00."

"I sincerely hope that this not only helps the drivers but also the fans. Hopefully more drivers will be able to come out and have some fun and fans will get to see some good racing with fuller fields."

Sounds good. Every track should be doing this. But the one thing I see wrong with this is.....fees shouldn't be raised for a Series race or fastcar race. Or what ever race that other tracks would use to raise the price. They would have something special each week. Just drop the pit fee $5.00 period at ALL track in Fla. And I would also do the same $5.00 drop at the front gate. If tracks want to raise their food prices to off set this drop then go for it. But it's a start in the right direction.

Was nice to see Robert Hart there tonight don't know if he'll make every night but atleast he showed for the first night. We have 6 more nights to go and hopefully when it's all done the track and racers can work together to get alot of stuff straighten out. Once again I like to thank FASCAR for giving the racers a chance to be involved.

Thank you... I hope that everyone, Mr. Hart included, realizes that this is a step in the right direction, even though it may not be an immediate "fix" for the issue of lower attendance and car count.. It will be a positive effect over time for both higher car counts and higher fan counts...

Again thank you very much for taking that second step....
Everyone shouldn't forget that other steps have been taken, (i.e. Town Hall meetings, amongst other things)...

Thus far things are taking a great step forward for the end of this season and for 2009...

                have a great night all..

I hope lowering the entry prices will do the trick . Sure can't hurt . But raising food prices ( already close to being too high now ) would kill off any positive effect from lowering the front gate . The thinking is that fans will have more money to spend on food , thus helping offset lower ticket prices . Raise the food prices and fans don't buy food . Track owner loses twice as much money .

Although I do like the new direction, I also believe that all racetracks should have some kind of price break for the 12-16 range kids. I've had many occasions where Julie & I have had to pass on the races, strictly because of kids admission costs.

A group like ours consisted of her, myself, 2 of our teenagers, 1 friend of the kids, and one under-10. At $15.00 per adult/teenager would have been $75.00 to get in. If the teens would have been $5.00 each, it would have been $45.00... a good bargain for a group of 6 people ($7.50 per person). Since we couldn't afford $75.00, we found something else to do.

If I were a track owner, I would MUCH rather have $45.00 and 6 people buying food and drinks, than get absolutely nothing from my group.

Teens are neither old enough to get a part-time job to pay their own way, nor are they old enough to stay home alone. We HAVE to travel as a pack... or stay home as one!

Jane, that is incorrect... on a Standard Night... ALL General Admission is $10.00... the Student & Senior (which Jerry is getting close to) is $5.00 less on the $15.00 and up nights (i.e. Tours Shows, Extended Features, TBARA, etc.)

So tomorrow night being a bright house race at OSW means 15 front gate and 30 pit gate? When I called NSS today was told pit gate was 20 non-members and 15 for members. Probally should try and make it plain and clear. I'm not complaining just making a suggestion.

Skip - tonight grandstands are $15.00, $10.00 for students and seniors (62 and older), children 11 and under FREE. From now on, pit gate will be $20.00 non FASCAR, $15.00 FASCAR except for SpeedWeeks which it will be a flat $30.00 at the pit gate for those 9 nights. And on Saturdays at Orlando, the grandstands are $10.00, $5.00 students and seniors, children 11 and under FREE, we have never changed that one since we started on Saturday night. Look forward to seeing you tonight.

                              Hey Mod

From what was posted, the only time that the pit gate prices changes to $30.00 is for 2009 speedweeks... the rest of the time, the pit is $15 and $20 respectively...
