      MARION EDWARDS JR MEMORIAL RACE WINNERS
      AT HIALEAH SPEEDWAY

      Marion Edwards, Jr or “Little Marion” as he was known, was fatally injured in a late model race at New Smyrna Speedway on a Sunday afternoon in July 1969 when his Chevelle caught fire and he was unable to release his belts and harness and escape. Despite the efforts of many he perished in the fire. A second- generation driver of a well-respected racing family at Hialeah Speedway, this race annually honors his memory.

        oh boy ya ll the memories are coming back . so much fun in them days . i worked the old holly wood speedway back when i was 14 loved it then and never got the chance to work at hialeah but i was there every weekend even the night after i got married and when i was pregnant with both my boys i would waddle up the bleachers at hialeah lol and when they got old enought to sit up they went every weekend also then my boys got involved in dirt tack racing here in okee so i worked thundercross track and then now i work hendry county . i have been around it a long time and love racing but i cherish the old memories thanks for the posts of the guys who had won in previous years . rusty i truly hope you can get this worked out we need to honor all the guys who gave us such wonderful memories good and bad lol.
