  • Sunbelt Results?

It really shouldn't be this hard to find the results of this state's premier super late model touring series. No results on the FASCAR website, no results on the CMP website...

I just heard from a relative of one of the drivers that Wayne Anderson won, as I predicted to him. Anyone got the rundown of the race?

"this state's premier super late model touring series"

Only because it's the ONLY SLM Touring Series. Does 'anyone' even care anymore? Getting "the BEST 20 in the state" isn't hardly possible anymore. It should've been phrased as "the remaining 20 in the state".

I have been looking for 2 days now and didn't find one thing about who won. I guess you have to have another last name other than Anderson to be mentioned anymore. If somebody different won it would be front page news and plastered everywhere but, typical second and third hand info because it's too hard for them to type the results. same thing at Punta Gorda. Wayne won down there awhile back, and it even isn't mentioned on there site, they have everything about other guys, but once again..If that name is mentioned, hmm, can't write about that one.. Just another way to keep his loyal fans guessing..

Maybe Sandy was just trying to get some sleep and hasn't posted yet . I'm sure the reults will be posted soon if they aren't already . I doubt it has anything to do with who won .

                        Thanks everyone for the results.

I really, really hope they make some changes to the Sunbelt Series for next year because that is positively sad that twelve cars showed up. I used to chase that series all over 3-5 years ago and now I would have been very upset with myself had I driven all the way up to Lake City for twelve cars.

This is only my take but it is not the series that is the problem, it is today and our economy. I know quite a few of the Sunbelt racers and they just did not have the money to haul to Lake City. It was not the series that stopped them but money and money does talk to many of us. The 12 cars that were there, they were good cars and yes, maybe they have more money than some of the other guys but I can't blame the series for today's economy.

We can blame anything and everything for low car counts today but when it comes right down to it, it is that dollar which makes the difference. I know quite a few of the guys intended to run the full season and then layoffs happened, Tropical Storm Fay, etc., etc. and they have to pick and chose now if they can race what race or if they can race at all.

People that know me, know that I am the first one to ask questions to racers about why they are not racing or what happened that they can't. This year I have seen many racers that I saw all the time, stop racing or only race when they can because of money. They did not blame a series or a track or tech or tires or gas but the cost of just living and having to chose what is most important. Some have lost their jobs completely and racing is the last thing on their minds. If they had the money, they would be here but they flat don't have the money.

Say whatever you want to say but try asking alot of these guys that are missing why they are missing for real instead of automatically blaming a series or a track. Most would give anything to be out there but they can't because they had to chose what was best for their families.

                          Again, ONLY my two cents.

To your point, I would look at the series rules and payout distribution to help get those guys back out.

I wish I had a magic wand and I would make everything the way it should be but I don't. I wish I could give back people their jobs and give them bigger purses to race for but I can't. But sometimes even the biggest purse or most
liked rules won't change today's times. I wish I was not about to lose my friend but I am. I wish I could catch up my house payments and make everything better for my family but I can't. All I can do is what I can do and if I can help someone, I will. But purses and rules are not what is stopping alot of my friends from racing, it is plain not having the money to race.

If someone out there has a magic wand or a money tree seed, I would love to have one. Then I would make everything better for everyone and my friend would not be dying and I would actually have a decent floor in my house. But until then, all I can do is support the ones who can race and miss the ones who can't.
