I wish I was around then to see the old 1/4 mile track.
Promoting for the track was horrible. As a fan, the only way I would find out about races were from friends raced.
Maybe someone can help me with my memory. I wanna say it was around 1999 or 2000 in Jan.? at Lakeland. Maybe speed fest? Not real sure. Jr Hanley and Mike Fritts were going back and fourth. Fritts was leading and Hanley was hitting Fritts every corner, lifting the rear of his car and Fritts kept it under control. Lap after lap this was going on and finally Fritts spun out and both went to the rear. Needless to say Fritts came all the way through the pack and ended up winning the race and that was the single best race I ever got to see.
