  • Boneman wins Feature Event at OSW

Yes, that is correct. Our buddy Boneman/Rex stole the show at Orlando SpeedWorld on Friday night, winning the super exciting mini-stock feature on the 3/8 mile high-banked asphalt oval track.
He overcame many blocks, went high, and then low--and actually plowed his way to victory in the most thrilling race of the Century.
Concrats to the Boneman for thrilling the large crowd, and his always-present fans/buddies.
I was glad I was there, this will make the local papers, for sure. And the 6:00 News.

This is big time, it will make the 6:30 news with Brian Williams. Guest appearences on Letterman and Leno, maybe even a Sat night live host.

            Congrats Rex

Ab, Frss and Derf, It was great to meet you guys last night. Its hard to believe that I have been on these board for 3-4 years and just now got to meet you. I look forward to crossing paths in the future.

Todd, Ron, Rex, Kevin and Mike.
I dont think we are allowed back in Ihop. Especially after what Kevin did in the entry way. You know they should really put the bathrooms closer to the front door.

Do you know what makes a good party? Its the people who are there that make all the difference. I can assure you, that last night at Speedworld was one of the most fun race nights I've ever had in 36 years as a racer and fan. A top 3 night, for sure.

Yep, everything went smoothly with my new car, I met up with an old friend I hadn't seen since 1974, Ron and Todd McCreary repaired my old car and it ran well. The only problem all night was that Ovalracer44 had engine trouble in the feature.

THEN IT STARTED! I hung around the OSW beer stand for an hour watching the race videos and telling lots of jokes with a bunch of friends: AB195, Frasson118, Derf, and others. Then we adjourned to the IHOP with Todd and Ron McCreary, Ovalracer44, Mike Poole and Edm. Let me assure you, I have never, ever been in such a rowdy and funny group. We laughed until we ached.

My thanks to all who came to the party, and also to the ones who were not there, but who would have made it.

As for me, I'm off to the garage!

Do I really have to ask for the victory lane photo?

                Let's see it already!

What a cool feeling, getting to watch a friend go to Victory Lane. For anybody that doesn't know Rex, you can't find a better person than him. It's been a long dry spell for Boneman, but he proved last night that given the proper equipment, he can drive the wheels off of it, and he did that last night.

Great job my friend... I would have kicked myself in the ass if I had missed it.

                  Some other notes:

Great to see Derf again, and to finally meet Edm and Ovalracer44 (Kevin). Of course, the fun never ends when there is a McCreary or 2 hanging around either. Had to feel bad for Kevin. Came all the way from South Carolina, only to ruin an engine on the last lap of the Feature. What originally was planned out as a 4-race vacation, turned into 1 race and a ruined motor.

Wingless Sprints are a whole different animal than the Winged version. Slower, yes. Short on action... I didn't think so. Those things are a handfull to drive, and I give credit to each of those drivers for keeping them headed in the right direction. Blaze Martin is proving to be a star of the future. He had to charge from behind at least 3 different times, before he took the lead and the win. Dakotah Stevens and Mickey Kempgens were also impressive.

Although the field of cars was short in all classes (some were WAY short), it was still a very competitive show. Other than my favorite class (insert obvious sarcasm here) the Bandeleros, it seemed every race was pretty good, and some were very good.

All things considered, I had one hell of a good time last night. Seeing Rex take a win was worth the admission price alone. All the rest was a great bonus!

oh come on. that's not even his first win of the year. and last time he was in a real race car.

Especially after what Kevin did in the entry way.

oh yeah. it's all Kevo's fault. i'm sure they'll be happy to let any of us back in if we just tell them we sent him back to South Carolina.

Kevo "I see you've got hairy legs."
Boneman "That's not my leg. Now why are you trying to check my legs out in the first place?"

Ed, of course, was completely innocent in all of this.

                      We laughed until we ached.

i don't think the manager believed you were innocent in any of this either, Shmoo. you'll have to Shmoo harder next time.

the fun never ends when there is a McCreary or 2 hanging around either. Had to feel bad for Kevin.

you should have ended the paragraph right there, Jerry. OTOH, Kevo did say he was glad we weren't ignoring him.

Well it's about time someone on Karnac other than Jim Higgenbotham is a famous racecar driver.

                          Congrats on the win.
