Kindof crazy question for everyone

A few years back, I remember seeing on tv that I think it was Orange County that gave away seized cars to families in need of a car but could not afford one. I have looked everywhere on the computer but have found nothing. My grandson's mom, she is a single mom of two, lost her car because she could not make the payments and I was wondering if anyone remembers this program and if it is still working. I told her I would look into it but have found nothing. She doesn't need a fancy car but one that runs and will get her kids to daycare and her to work. If you know if this program does still exsist anywhere, could you please let me know.

i googled "free cars for families in need" and it came up with alot of urls. check them out... i didnt have time to research them...
