I for one think that NASCAR hit a home run, for the first time in a long time. My wife and I went to it. One of the most exciting parts of it for me was the number of fans walking around with there with their own personal racing jackets on. *Smith Racing” or whatever. There seemed to be a lot of local racers in attendance. I haven’t seen that in a long time at a NASCAR race. The racing itself was better than I expected. The first 50 laps was downright exiting in my opinion, I barely sat down. The middle of the race was a lot off single file racing, largely due to tire wear issues I think. All the teams I was listing in to were telling the drivers to save their tires and brakes for the end of the race. The last 20 laps or so Harvick was putting on an exciting show in the outside grove, it may have been better in person than on TV. What did you guys think of it?

I watched some of it on TV but honestly a lot of what I saw was shrouded in dust so bad it was hard to tell who was who.I saw one of the overhead shots and you could see the dirt lifting straight upwards since its the only place in that bowl for it to escape. In my opinion they need a better venue where a little side to side air flow would lift that dust quicker. And there just happens to be a facility hard at work that could fill that dirt race slot.I-70 Speedway in Missouri is starting to take shape from a brief posted video I saw online yesterday. They still have a ways to go but they have already done one metric Shi! ton of work and will have enough seating capacity it looks like to rival Eldora at the least.sigpic
