  • V8 StockCar Series Roebling Winners

Bill Smith won overall and the V8 GT-1 class in his winged, 16" wheeled Jr Hanley built super late model. Bill won over the fast winged Monte Carlo of Charles Wicht. (this was the ex Kevin Harvick car #92 that was so fast at Daytona last month)

Tony Amico won in V8 GTA in an ex ASA/Delco Monte Carlo

Doug Sanders won V8 SPO in an ex Nascar Sprint Cup Monte Carlo prepared by Baucom motorsports.

It is incredible how much speed Bill Smith and his crew chief Andrew Blaske get out of that old Jr. Hanley car. This is one of the oldest tube frame cars still living, originally built around 1979. But with some ingenuity, a 800 HP
Fischer SB2, some good brakes and Andrew's set up and "Wild Bill's" take no prisoners driving style this thing runs lap times in the territory of the high dollar Trans Am type Corvette's and such.

Smith and Jeff Emery (who has been on a hiatus this year) have done amazing things at Daytona, Sebring, Road Atlanta, Homestead and others with relatively inexpensive super late models adapted for road course racing.
It's nice to have a $250,000 Trans Am type racer, but not absolutely necessary.

Tony Amico's V8 GTA started life as an ASA National Tour car that has been converted to road race configuration. These make outstanding road racers, very safe, easy to convert, and very quick with as little as 500 HP.

The SPO cars are the cup, Busch, Hooters cars or Super Lates running on 10 inch stock car rubber and blade spoiler, most have 650 plus HP.

We will be at Road Atlanta in November for the American Road Race of Champions with 40 plus stock cars and GT-1 types

Those interested in dragging out that old super late model and maybe doing some racing next year at Daytona ..Sebring.. Homestead...Road Atlanta and VIR can get more info at www.v8stockcar.com under getting started.
