We need racecars next Friday and Saturday at the Titusville McDonald's to help promote racing at Orlando SpeedWorld. We begin at 10 a.m. and we need all the help we can get from you guys. If I didn't live on the other coast I'd come over and buy some fries and a strawberry milkshake just so I could spill em in Rex's car.......
All kidding aside, I like to see promotional deals like these to get racecars and the idea of stock car racing out in front of John Q. Public. Something to draw their interest to the sport by actually seeing the cars and drivers up close before you ask them to shell out for it. I hope you have a great turnout from your racers.

I wasn't there Friday when they did this at McDonald's but I was there Saturday and about 6 or 7 weeks ago when Pedie Allison brought his car to the same McDonalds and gave trophies to the kids (his own personal ones). The kids lite up like Xmas lights and it really got people interested. Saturday we had 4 Legends, 2 Pro Challenge and 1 Super Stock but until we got the cars there, people could have cared less about a free ticket for Orlando SpeedWorld. But when the cars came and the drivers, it was a different story. They could actually put a face with a car and have someone to cheer for and that was great. Plus they let the little kids get in their cars and I don't care what kind of racecar it is, the kids love it because it is a racecar.
I know everyone says no one promotes anything anymore but it takes two to do that on a local level. Us (the bad officials) and the drivers. It takes time from both of us and if we find one person who finds out that hey, racing is not so bad and comes back the following week, we have done good.
So if you can come next Friday and/or Saturday to McDonald's on Hwy 50 in Titusville and bring that car, please come. And if you have some old dusty trophies that are just taking up space, bring a few and make some kids smile because believe me, it will definitely do that. I will bring the sharpie so if you can bring some trophies, you can sign them for the kids.

I will definitely do it saturday. I may come down Thursday nite to do it firday too.
Rex I need to commandeer a place to change ring and pinion for New Smyrna. I doubt Mcdonalds or the hotel would want me doing it in the parking lot.

Kevin... we have a shop in Sanford, Fl., just about equal distance in between the 2 tracks. You are welcome to it if you'd like. Forkifts, air, welder, Oxy/acetylene, pressure washer, etc.... From our shop, exactly 1 turn will get you straight to New Smyrna (hard to get lost!).
