All the race winners visit the DQ😀After last Saturday at Citrus County I'm starting to re think this whole go to the races to see who wins thing. Its becoming more and more like go to see who's fast then come home and look on Facebook to see who actually won.Brooke Storer the Wheelman Sportsman winner...dq'd.Third place....dq'd.Pure Stock winner Craig Cuzzone...dq'd.Im starting to wonder why I keep bothering to go when I leave the track not knowing who actually won.

Generally speaking, because I have no knowledge of whatever happened at Citrus, but the fewer rules a class has, the fewer DQs result. Sprints for example; the rule book is very stable, not very long and the only DQs result from bad tires. I feel bad for the stock car classes where the bodies are measured with calipers and templates.

As most always, The Boneman is correct.
However, also generally speaking, classes with fewer rules result in (many) more dollars being invested in the cars, and predictably, smaller fields, typically eventually resulting in extinction.
Happily, sprint cars are currently an exception, however, they too have kind of come and gone on asphalt in central Florida over the years.
To Zerofor's point, NASCAR has traditionally let the flagged winner's win stand, specifically so the fans do not feel "cheated", as 04 describes.
They DO take points and money, and that may be something for short track sanctioning bodies to consider. I mean, why not...?
I will say that I believe that if "x" modification isn't spelled out as being illegal in the rule book, it should by default be "legal", at least for the night.Last edited by OldSchool+; 06-25-2020, 03:15 PM.

At Citrus County on Saturday Brooke Storer and the third place car of (Robbie Cooper?)#44..were both disqualified for transmission components.Reported to be an illegal tailshaft on Storer's #9 and supposedly the same issue on the third place #44 .Cuzzone stated on Facebook it was a ride height infraction of 1/8 inch...but still illegal per the rules in a race he won easily.Brandon Morris was the recipient of the backed into Sportsman victory. What I'm kinda driving at is this...All the stick and ball sports have been on hiatus because of the plague. The only sport with any real visibility currently is stock car racing. And I think you've all seen the 3 ring dog & pony freak show NASCAR has recently become...So people are saying go back to the short tracks!! Racing's Roots!! So say mom & dad bring little Billy & Susie to the entire family's first ever race.It sounds like fun right? I mean after all they've been to a Bucs game before and a Marlins game and Orlando Magic game too.Should be at least kinda like that...could you imagine them going to any of those sports and when they come home their friends call and ask who won.Well...let me tell you on Monday and I will know for sure by then..Huh?? What?? You paid money went and watched in person and you STILL don't know?? Good selling point on attracting and keeping new fans.sigpic
