  • Brooke Storer wins a clean & green Wheelman frostbite 50 at Citrus

Does anybody ever feel like a cooked ham sitting in the West facing stands at Citrus County Speedway? Last night wasn't one of those nights. With race time temperature in the 50's aided by a refreshing wind😜,twenty Wheelman Series Sportsman qualified and started their first appearance in Inverness for the 2020 season.Jesse Henley set fast time followed by Jeff Scofield.A complete restart kicked off the start after a 12 car inversion with the restart being the last flag that flew before the White, then checkered flag.Brooke Storer fought her way to the front but was being chased down by Brandon Morris as her car ran sour in the last ten laps. She alluded to the fact that they had fought carb and electrical issues all day in her post race interview, and it did indeed sound particularly flat the final five laps.Brandon Morris said he was praying for a yellow but it never came.James Peters took home the win over Larry Welter Jr in the twenty car field Pure Stock feature,Clint Foley was victorious in the mod mini feature that started 18 cars and Thomas Peete was the winner of the sixteen car mini stock main.To round out the night Jesse Veltman was the winner of the Granny's old cop cab twenty lap figure 8 feature which at times looked more like a smoke show of the WWE.Eleven cars started. All in all great representation in all divisions and I almost have all the feeling back in my toes now😁😳
