The same as the car count there all year.Rotten.And not just the superlates. All division across the board were low.I thought about going.Im glad now I didn't.There hasn't been a decent count there or at many other events all season.Citrus County has had the best turnout division by division all season by FAR.A certain track owner having a Facebook war of sorts with a latemodel guy isn't going to help their car count next year.(not New Smyrna to be clear)Eleven superlates at 4-17 the same night as New Smyrna.Only 22 turned out at Auburndale for 10 grand to win.Is it the racers or track owners. Is one expecting too much of the other? There IS a reason. You can't just say it isn't enough money when one track can have twenty plus cars in a division and others struggle to get a dozen per division.sigpic

On another front--the cost of a SLM engine vs the probable winnings is challenging. NSS takes a lot of motor to do well at-- and simultaneously is a great place to blow one up.
Hence, the success of the Sportsman Class.
They now have tube front clips, and, as predicted, are closer to being late models than ever.

low car count LOL!! its the new car count of the age . no lower then any other year . most people cant afford it bottom line it"s a hobby not a job. money goes out and doesn't come back. so not the tracks fault sometimes you have to chose pay the light bill or race. might be my last post I have moved on from racing I am living on a little island in the Caspian sea another one bites the dust .

Shorttrack--Outta the frying pan and into the fire?
If you get a chance, travel through Georgia and visit "Batman".

Let us know how the tracks are run and whatnot.

I am sure there are many reasons, and the day may be one. Today I am going to a 200 lapper at Myrtle Beach Speedway, and they have 57 LM stocks trying to get in the field. Sorry, I don't know the payout, or how much less $$ it is to run a LM stock, but those must be strong influences on car count!
