This Saturday at Citrus County Speedway is the biggest race of the year for the sportsman. The High Kick 99, the format is 3 each 33 lap race segments. The 1st segment starts straight up as the cars qualified, the 2nd and 3rd segments are total inverts from how they finished the previous segment. The finishing order will be determined by the cars average finish over the 3 segments. This will be a race you do not want to miss. If you would like to sponsor a lap ($10.00) contact Racecar Engineering and let them know.

"...If i'm reading this right, the winner of the final segment may not be the winner of the race and somebody who [had the highest average finish, but] didn't win any of the segments is?"-- ]Bandit
Correct. In fact, a guy could theoretically win two segments and "lose" to a car that won none.
And I have no argument with your argument, sir.
On the other hand, 100 lappers can get to be a yawn fest, and this way the fans get to see three high stakes regular-length-get-it-done-right-now races.
In Cup, what are the segment breaks besides glorified "competition" (read "contrived") cautions? The Sportsman guys can at least work on their cars in between races. And there are three races.
So, bottom line, I believe the racing will make the event well worth attending.
And the numbers? I never liked math much anyways.Last edited by OldSchool+; 10-22-2019, 11:50 AM.

Citrus Race
OldSchool, I have no problem with the 3 segments, that's great with the inversions and breaks. It does make a better race for the fans, but the winner at lap 99 should be the winner of the race, period. Not the 4th place finisher with his, or her average.
BTW, cup has screwed up everything with it's stage racing and whatever round of something? It has no place in local short track racing. Set an amount of laps, or a break half way and race for the checkered flag.
