East Bay will be gone in five years

I was reading a post last night on Facebook that the owners of East Bay Raceway have signed an agreement with Mosaic Inc.to purchase the clay by the bay after completion of the 2024 racing season.

So...another one bites the dust...

Seriously, though, I hate to see that happen. Been to a lot of great races there.

Maybe the Reutimanns will run at Volusia or even Citrus. They currently run dirt, but I have seen them run (and win) a bunch on asphalt.

Man I hate to see that. I love that place. But I understand that a business needs to be profitable to keep the doors open. Both the car and fan count has been pretty mediocre the past 5-8 years there.

Until it happens, I wouldn't stress. This has happened multiple times to Irwindale in CA and to Wall Stadium in NJ. Somewhere along the way, "agreements" that have been signed, are somehow voided.

But in the case of East Bay, am hoping you are correct.

And who knows, maybe Speedworld's last chapter has not been written. They say the surface is still okay.
