Two time ASA and Snowball Derby champion Gary St.Amant is getting ready to climb back in the hot seat this Sunday at Kil-Kare Speedway in Xenia Ohio for a special event co promoted by the CRA and Shady Bowl Speedway in Degraff Ohio. This stand alone event pits the CRA Sportsman division against the Shady Bowl Speedway latemodel regulars.St Amant, who noted his last time racing was seven years ago, hopes to replicate that performance that resulted in a CRA Super Series win.He stated that win fell on the same weekend as the passing of his dad Bud St Amant, longtime car owner of Don Gregory. The event this Sunday at Kil-Kare also falls on the same weekend. This will be the only oval track event held at the Xenia D shaped 1/3 mile this year. The Vores Compact Touring Series and 100 lap enduro fill out the rest of the race card. Here's wishing the Speedway and St Amant a successful Sunday.

The CRA Street Stocks are also on the race card.It sounds like a pretty good race card actually as the CRA street stocks should have around 30 cars and the Vores Mini Stock's will probably bring that many. They expect at least a dozen Shady Bowl latemodel cars there and I would think at least a dozen of the CRA Sportsman cars would show up.sigpic

I haven't seen any full results posted yet but Justin Alsup was the winner in a field of 18 cars. The Street Stock numbers were low with only 14 cars running an event won by Chad Pendleton. The noteworthy thing to me was a picture I saw posted of the #7 Monte Carlo Street Stock of TJ Gregory grandson of Don Gregory the former Florida Governor's Cup Champion.A full throwback of his grandpa's purple and white Jegs sponsored ride with the familiar gold #7,a mirror image of Don's latemodel from the mid 1970's.sigpic
