  • A little rain,A little thunder and lightning and a Wheelman win for Beckner at Citrus

After a 90 minute rain delay for a passing thunderstorm,Jason Vail set a new track record in qualifying for the Wheelman Sportsman Series at Citrus County Speedway last night. But Earl Beckner had it on cruise control against a twenty one car field at Citrus County Speedway.Leading most of the way Beckner cruised to a half a second victory leading Rex Strubel and Vail across the stripe to claim the victory in the headline event. It's been a Larry Welter jr/Sport Harley Wilson show most of the season in the pure stock division and once again the pair finished that way again last night, running away from the rest of the twenty four car starting field.Ken Nurse grabbed the win in the modified mini feature that started nine cars, beating Chris & Tom Zimmerman to the checker.Brian Potvin took the win in the mini stock feature against a nineteen car field only to be dq'd in post race tech handing the official victory to David Carlbert.Jason Waller ran away from the ten other starters to take the Outlaw Street Stock feature win and the Wheelman Sportsman officials scratched the dash for cash from the evenings line up which was slated to be the final race of the night. It was an all feature night as the heat races were also carved off the racecard after the lengthy rain delay.
