Eighteen open wheel modifieds qualified for last nights 50 lap main event at Citrus County Speedway last night with 17 cars actually starting.A passing shower cooled the action off for around thirty minutes or so when they got to lap 12.After track drying concluded it looked to be a duel between Wayne Jefferson in Dick Anderson's #92 and L.B.Skaggs in his #71 with Skaggs holding the advantage most of the way until on lap 47 Jefferson got into Skaggs coming off turn four moving him up the track enough to get under him and take the lead.Skaggs caught him in turn one and spun him bringing out the yellow on lap 48.Jefferson pulled into the pits at this point, not to return with Skaggs following suit before the green dropped.Bruce Bennett inherited the lead at the restart with James Ellis,Bobby Blake and LJ Grimm lining up in the next three spots.Bennett led the remaining two laps to take home the victory with Ellis chasing him across the stripe.Meanwhile behind the front two, Blake and Grimm collected each other coming off turn four as the checker flew with Grimm getting out of his stopped car and walking over to Blake's window and asking about his mother.Or something like that anyway.Ryan Walters hit the stripe in third in the immaculate #0x with Richie Smith fourth.Larry Welter Jr. beat Sport Harley Wilson to the checker in the Pure Stock feature while Noah Cornman took the legend feature and Joey Cattereli took the twenty lap Outlaw figure 8.
