  • George Gorham Jr. wins out in 4-17 Superlate 200

George Gorham Jr. took home the winners cut of the purse tonight at 4-17 Speedway.Behind the wheel of Jeff Scoffield's #07 he powered away on several late race restarts to end up in victory lane.Dylan Bigley finished second and Nick Neri third.Steve Dorer came home in fourth and David Green fifth to round out the lead lap finishers.Jeff Gordon (no not that one) was the only other car that finished the race albeit several laps off the pace.Ten cars started the 200 lapper with Shane Sawyer leading most of the first half of the race up until the lap 101 competition caution.Sawyer dropped off the pace and out of the race shortly after the halfway restart.Nick Neri was fast qualifier.Chris Loney won the 75 lap V8 Bomber marathon that took 90 minutes to complete after multiple cautions in the early going. So many cautions that by 40 minutes after the green flag had dropped there were only 13 laps completed. The 22 car starting field quickly(?) dwindled but Loney held check the entire distance and won easily.Brian Beckner won the five truck thunder truck feature and Rick Fenical won the Dan Curl Memorial for the Outlaw Modifieds beating Mike Endee to the line in the three car field. All in all a bang up of a night.Particularly so for me as I got hit and run by somebody on my way home.
