Gov. Cup Tailgating

Although I can't (financially) do my annual Tailgate party for the Cup race this year, I still plan on arriving early, whipping out a grill, slappin' back a few cold ones, and talkin' racing with the diehards. Who else is coming this year?

I look forward to this race every year, for the friendship of things more than the race itself. I'll still be over by the patch of trees just past the ticket booth and to the left... and as always, OPEN INVITATION to all that would like to get out there in time to share stories of days gone by, with friends that I don't get to see often enough.

Other than Jim H., who all is coming, and will you join us?

Not Gonna Be There

Sorry, but I'm not going to go to the Governors Cup. As far as I know, I'll be at EastBay watching their show instead (unless the plan changes). I'm no longer into watching maybe 20 cars go round and round with maybe five lead changes. I'm hooked on dirt. Nothing against asphalt if that's what you're into, but my eyes have been opened.

I'll be there announcing with Mark and Roland, so I'll try and stop by... Should be fun... I just hope the race teams support the race this year... I sure would want my name on that trophy with Trickle, Reutimann, Eddy, Howe, The Andersons, Pete Orr, Brack, Dumont, Hamkee, Cope and, of course Big Jim Fenton!!

What time are you setting up shop?

I have to check in with my regular Governors Cup pal and see what time I'm meeting him there.

My offer still stands to help you out with supplying some beer for people from the message board, as long as I can get there in time.

Tailgate Party For Govenors Cup

We hope to be there about noon with the RV. Virginia is making the potato salad and we can bring 30 or 40 hot dogs and buns. Also some drinks. If some could bring chips and anything else that strikes your fancy, it would be nice also. We will park in the area of Frasson-118.
