PRO TRUCKS AND SPECIAL STREET STOCK CHALLENGE HIGHLIGHT BIG RACING NIGHT THIS WEEK AT AUBURNDALE SPEEDWAY

Auburndale Speedway returns to racing action Saturday night with a pair of 50-lap shoot-outs as the big races of the night. The Pro Trucks are back for their sixth event of the year while the other 50-lap run will be for the Street Stock cars that normally run at Citrus County Speedway in Inverness and Showtime Speedway in Pinellas Park. The cars that run at the two tracks differ considerably from the class of "Street Stocks" run here at Auburndale, but these cars and drivers are being given the opportunity to compete against each other at a different venue in order to "even the playing field" so to speak. The two classes will run their own track rules and tires with only weight adjustments being used.

Other racing for the evening will feature the return of the Modified Mini Stocks, The V-8 Bombers, Q Mini Stocks and the Mini Cup cars.

Bartow driver Cody McDuffie has won four of the five Pro Truck races run so far this season at Auburndale Speedway and he currently holds a lead of 14 in the point standings over Bradenton's Danny Anderson. Derek Pugh of West Palm Beach, the only driver to visit Kelly's Used Cars victory circle other than McDuffie this year, is third in points, 6 behind Anderson. Pugh is coming off a big win, though, just two weeks ago at New Smyrna Speedway.

Jason "Scrappy" Lester is currently fourth in Pro Truck points followed by Big Donnie Burkhalter. Rounding out the present top ten in points are Todd Haag, Mike Kohut, Colt Cecil, Adam Briggs and Brey Holmes. All are expected to be in action along with the likes of Becca Monopoli, Billy Carlbert, Jr., Leroy Moore, Kristin Clements, Brennon Pletcher, Wesley Rounds, William Kerns, Shea Montgomery, Mark Kemick, Johnny Marra, Colt Hensley, Carter Brown and Jacob Nicoletti. Around 20-24 Pro Trucks are expected, possibly more.

The Citrus County Speedway/Showtrime Speedway Street Stock Challenge will feature some "heavy hitters" from both tracks incLuding the likes of Thomas Meyer, local favorite Brandon "Bones" Duchscherer, Dodge Carlbert, Cody Stickler, James Peters, Andrew Hall, Casey Hall, Wesley Rounds, Casey Rounds, Sammy Coghill, Dennis Wilson and several more.

The Modified Mini Stocks will run their seventh race of the year this week and only Fred Harrison, the current point leader, has won twice. He'll have plenty of challengers in the form of defending track champion Chris Spring, Chuck Frazier, Mike Kerrivan, Clint Holmes, Scott Bumgardner, Tim Scalise, Rachelle Rudolph, Matt Cummins and others.

Chris Narramore, Jr.'s win in the Q Mini Stocks last week tied him with his dad Chris, Sr. for the most wins in the class this year at six apiece. The "old man" still leads the point standings, though. James Wright III still has a big advantage over Danny Burchfield, Sr. in the V-8 Bomber points and won his fifth feature of the year last week while Clay Samuels finally broke through with a win in the Mini Cup class last week but still trails six-time winner Douglas Herrin, Jr. by a healthy margin in the point standings.

Pit gates open at 2 pm with Pro Truck practice slated from 3:45-4:30 pm. Other divisions will practice from 4:30-6 pm. Grandstand gates open at 5 pm and qualifying for the Pro Trucks and the C-S Challenge Street Stock cars takes place at 6:30 pm.

Racing begins at 7 pm with 8-lap heat races for the Mini Cups, Q Mini Stocks, Modified Mini Stocks and V-8 Bombers. Intermission will feature an autograph session (weather permitting) on the front stretch with the Pro Truck drivers just before they go racing in their "Back to School" 50-lap event that will be the first feature of the evening. Up next will be 20 laps for the Mini Cups, 25 laps for the Q Mini Stocks and 25 laps for the Modified Min Stocks followed by a 25-lap contest for the V-8 Bombers. The evening concludes with a 50 lapper for the Citrus County Speedway/Showtime Speedway Street Stocks.

Adult admission for this big night of exciting racing is just $15 with seniors 55+ $13. Children ages 5-12 are only $5 and all kids 4 and under get in free. The family 4-pack is just $32 for two adult and two children’s admissions (a $40 value). Pit passes are $30 per person and all parking is free.
