If you feel it's sad you should have sympathy for a guy maybe with a problem. BTW, The facts aren't out yet, just the sizzle...
Funny, you support a known drug dealer but have no sympathy for this soul. Cast that stone...
Since clouds have silver linings lets hope this is NASCARS. Someone has to step up to the plate and acknowledge generational differences that are in play. Yes it is obvious in NASCAR with the empty stands low viewer ratings an short fields. It is at play in baseball and football as well. In general sporting events that exceed the attention span of the new generations are suffering at the gat and on TV ratings.NASCAR must spice up its product. Lets try heats consis and shorter features anything that breaks up long green flag runs to no where.
Unfortunately Brian France's departure from the top has apparently been filled by yet another France family member who has more of a hands off approach than hands on.It has already been announced the Xfinity series has been shortened to a 38 car field for the 2019 season.I believe you will see the same thing happen in the truck series and possibly Cup as well.Nascar screwed themselves when they dreamed up the whole charter system to compete in the Cup series. Now you HAVE to have at least a couple million bucks in the bank just to get entry into the series. And shortening the fields will only make it worse. The less cars there are the less on track action you will see.Blacktop racing as a whole has lost sight of that fact. There are really only two things that bring action to a blacktop race when you get down to it.One is when you have a big group of cars banging fenders and battling for position.Which happens on restarts or at the very start of a race or at Daytona or Talladega where the cars often times stay grouped together in a pack because of the draft. The second thing that brings action is when the leaders have to start picking their way through lapped traffic which is why Bristol has always been a desired place to go by so many race fans. But the more the fields shrink and on a mile and a half track? Now you have turned a race into a high speed parade.Single file with the ability to truly DRIVE the car lessened substantially. The same has happened on the weekly short tracks.Eight and ten car fields is NOT entertaining even on a quarter mile track.Race track promotors and NASCAR need to step back and watch some old video's.I think they will see a direct relationship between shrinking fields and fans in the stands.
