Sebring drag races

I got an email from Sebring Raceway saying they are hosting the Sebring Drag Racing Summer Showdown on June 2nd. They must be expecting a big turnout because it runs from 11am to 9pm. They have big tire, small tire, street tire, and motorcycle classes. Admission is $10 for adults, and $5 for kids. Food trucks, burnout contests, and a car show. Sounds like it might be fun.

Curious how this will work. 1/8 mile I assume? How long is the long straight? Been a long time since I have been there but I don't remember that being long enough to accommodate 1/4 mile with enough shutdown area to be safe.

Regardless, as long as they aren't going up against PBIR or Immokalee they should get a pretty good turnout. I would take my Z06 if I was down there. Hopefully by the fall or next spring.

Yes, Phil, it is 1/8 mile. I don't if they will do it on the front straight or the back straight, or the back paddock area. Would be interesting to see.
