Watching the sportsman classes at different tracks produce great car counts because of the crate motor . I was thinking back about the E mod class they had bigger car counts so they did away with the class . They knew it would be the end of the big motor class over time . Well think about how many pro late model and some super lates have been turned into sportsman cars now running the crate motor think about that ! I bet a lot less super and pros now in Fl . Thoughts anybody ?

You are beating my drum, man!
I think there are some significant chassis rules differences between lates & sportsman cars, but they are closer than ever.
To your point, the last two modified races I have been to (Showtime & Auburndale) have had four and seven cars respectively.
I like LJ Grimm, but the handwriting was on the wall and I did not stay at Auburndale for the feature.
What has happened? Per Shorttrack, have they priced themselves right out of racing?
Promoters:
Regardless, I would rather (pay to) see 20 good mid class cars than four or five high dollar ones.

Again, I wish there was a way for spectators could get into "new, VIP seating" on the backstretch for a few bucks more, but less than pit entry cost.
But as i've mentioned before, there is an excellent alternative viewing area. It's the only one of it's kind that i know of in Florida short track racing. The Bistro down in turn 4 at Citrus County Speedway has tables and chairs, cold beverages, and is located under the spreading oaks so it's nice and cool.Renegade Racing Fuels of Florida/Palmdale Oil Company

Yea there is not a whole lot to change a prolate to sportsman class and another funny thing some guys had to cut the front tube cilp off and replace with it with a stock clip now you can run a tube clip . Just was thinking . either way After watching sportsman at different tracks . The wheelman sportsman have the best racing . Same guy is not winning every week and the Racing is tight . One or two cars are not getting out front and leaving everybody . Just interesting how many super and pros class have been turned into sportsman . I like it when the sportsman are done Racing . I leave the track don’t care to watch the other classes anymore .

I think they should change the big motor modifieds to SK or NASCAR mods....the chassis are readily available and fairly cheap and then bring back the E mods with the crate motor and all the existing mods will have someone to sell their existing chassis to. IF you give the guys 6-7 months heads up, I would think mods in 2019 would flourish again,
