I see that there are only 7 SLM on the updated entry list? Can this be accurate? I know some don't pre-enter, but this is still quite a bit less than normal. Big field of Tour mods though.

Looks pretty slim this year in all classes except Tour Mods... Hopefully it will be better... Only going twice... Sat. the 10th and only because of Sprints and Sportsman and Friday the 16th for the Mod Reunion and might stay for the Evans race...

The temperature needs to DROP to make it feel like the World Series! This was my favorite time of the year: still is really. I get to race this Saturday, then be a spectator all week.
I'll never forget World Series, 1998. That was when mini stocks ran the first 5 nights, and because I lived pretty close, I would tow my Pinto home every night. This year, I was hauling the trailer with my Caddy. Once I came back to my parking spot in the infield and found a business card stuck in the door; it was from some funeral home up north. I didn't give it a thought until I came in from racing and found 4 guys leaning on my hearse, watching the races. It turned out they were a group of funeral directors who were on vacation to enjoy the races. Makes sense right, where else would these guys hang out?
So many good times over the years, AND looking forward to a great night with the Southern Sprint Cars this Saturday.

Cool story, Bone. I was there with my limited late model in '98. First time ever on the track there. I remember it rained out the first Friday night. Came back on Saturday and blew the engine in practice in a big fireball that melted the windshield and singed my eyebrows. By the way, I still wear an open face helmet, even at Daytona at 170 mph. : )Joe Jacalone
