    HARVEST MEAT MARKETS FAMILY NIGHT ON TAP SATURDAY AT AUBURNDALE SPEEDWAY - MOD MINIS GO FOR 40 LAPS

    Auburndale Speedway and Harvest Meat Markets will hold "Family Savings Night" this Saturday evening as it will be $10 grandstand admission for everyone aged 13 and up. Thanks go out to marketing partner Harvest Meat Markets along with owners Ed and Anita Kirkland. Harvest has locations in Auburndale, Lakeland, Kathleen, Lake Alfred and Highland City.

    As a part of the evening concession stand specials will be available including $1 hot dogs, popcorn and small fountain drinks. Track Marketing Director Rick Bristol promises there will be plenty of hot dogs to go around after the track ran out during the special 75th Anniversary night promotion last year - before the races started!

    The big race of the night will feature 40 laps for the Modified Mini Stocks plus action with the V-8 Bombers, Street Stocks, Q Mini Stocks and the Mini Cup cars. 2017 awards for the local classes will be handed out during intermission.

    Receiving 2017 championship awards will be the following: LEGEND CARS - Alan Hiefnar (Champion), Kyle Pitts, Cale Nolen, Blake Boyette, Mike Verhaagh; MODIFIED MINI STOCKS - Chris Spring (Champion), Rachelle Rudolph, Chuck Frazier; V-8 BOMBERS - James Wright III (Champion), Danny Burchfield, Bubba Healey, Ricky Norman, David Purvis; Q MINI STOCKS - Chris Narramore, Sr. (Champion), John Cummins, Jr., Bruce Cozad, Fred Martin, Colt Cecil; MINI CUPS - Russell Bush (Champion), Douglas Herrin, Jr., Clay Samuels, Bill Rychel, Doug Higbie; SCRAMBLERS - Dustin Wilson (Champion), Keith Cantrill, William Kerns.

    Pit gates open at 3 pm with practice slated from 4-5:45 pm. Grandstand gates open at 5 pm and qualifying for the Mod Minis is slated for 6:15 pm. Racing begins at 7 pm with 8-lap heat races for the Mini Cups, Q Mini Stocks, V-8 Bombers and Street Stocks. Following intermission and the 2017 awards presentations it's feature racing starting out with a pair of 20-lap contests for the Mini Cups and Q Mini Stocks. The V-8 Bombers are up next racing for 25 laps followed by another 25-lapper for the Street Stocks. The evening concludes with the 40-lap run for the Modified Mini Stocks.

    Thanks to Harvest Meat Markets, again adult/senior admission for this great evening of racing is just $10 with children ages 5-12 only $5 and all kids 4 and under getting in free. The family 4-pack not available for this event but will return on February 10th. Pit passes are $30 per person and all parking is free.
