  • 2018 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona

It's that time of year again! I know we have a few here who make the trek to Daytona for this event. I want to once again welcome anyone and everyone to stop by our camp site on the infield of NASCAR Turn 4! BYOB and come join the party! We typically have a group of 30-35 partying so the more the merrier! Maybe you will find out like a few others have this year, I'm actually a pretty good guy lol

If you want to stop by, hit me up and we can swap #'s in PM.

    Phil

My grandstand-only tickets are on the way, but I intend to keep an eye out for the motorhome fire in the infield.

Well, it was about 11:30 at night, there was nobody really at the gate so we just kinda cruised right in. I already had my own ticket. They literally just drove in hung out for a minute and left. Rebels lol

                Jacques is a bad influence.

First he told Patrick & Scott he had "special" pit passes, and then when they got to the gate he told the ticket guy he had Chip Ganassi & Tony Kanaan in the car after they took a quick a trip to Hooters for "inspiration".

Normally those two guys follow the rules precisely.

In a couple of years they will all be able to fly in on an Amazon drone under cover of darkness.(geez and to think the pit steward used to say I was a troublemaker lol)

In the early 80's, before ticket scanners and hard cards and the like, I made my own pit passes for Daytona. I would buy a general admission infield admission, and go up to fence in the garage area and look at the passes people were carrying, and go buy some construction paper that color, and draw the pass with a magic marker. Went anywhere I wanted!

That's hilarious lol Just construction paper and a magic marker?!

Up until a few years ago we would duplicate our camping passes but now they have QR codes etc on them. Tough to beat that.

Yes, I would pick the gate where the guard looked like he wanted to be somewhere else. I think maybe I had a hand in the institution of QR codes and scanners, lol.

Unlike some here, Jacko looks trustworthy!

Plus, in the 80's, he was only about six or so...
