  • Are there any tracks racing in Florida tonight?

I'm itching to see some racing, but I have to work on Sunday Morning.

Bithlo used to run Fridays, Orlando Speedway before that. None now that I know of.

Depending on your location, Showtime (sprint cars, start time 7pm) generally runs their stuff off quick, and Citrus (Mods, 50 lap) starts @ 6:30.

I live twenty minutes from Showtime. I'll probably head over there tomorrow night. Thanks.

        Attention Promoters

Another reason to run the good stuff first.

In addition to rain, church on Sunday, and generally folks not wanting to be bored half the night...

50x really wants to go to the races, but has to work on Sunday.

If he believes he can see Sprint Cars & be in bed by 10:30 or so, he is a lot more likely to head over and break out his wallet than if he thinks he has to wait on 3 or 5 classes of 4 bangers, driver intros, intermission, and so forth, and will probably have to leave before the headliner class runs their feature.

And 50x ain't the only guy working on Sunday...

As I mentioned, Showtime generally runs their show off quickly, & as he mentioned, he is planning to attend.

        Still, general food for thought...

This is third hand info that I believe to be true, so double check me.

Showtime management is aware of weather risks tomorrow, and they are expecting 25+ sprint cars. SO THEY ARE REACTING by running 2 or 3 sprint car heats first, quickly followed by a B main, and the goal is to run the sprint feature at 8 pm. We were supposed to have a autograph session and best appearing car contest, but those have been cancelled to get the races in.

That's good to know, and yes that greatly increases my desire to be there. I go to more dirt shows than asphalt, but every time I've been to Showtime they have done a really good job of keeping the show moving. Other promoters could learn a lessen from that.

Yes we have The BG Southern Sprint Car Series racing tomorrow night and have 25 cars pre entered for the 2nd Annual Senators Cup race. Senator Jack Latvala will be on hand to present the trophy to the winner. The Sprint Car feature is scheduled to go green at 8:30pm. Front gates open at 5pm with racing at 7:00 pm

It really does not need to be said (again), but Yoho is The Man.

Really though, the deal should not be weather dependent.

50x (& his ticket money) needs to go to work regardless on Sunday.

I cannot make it due to other obligations (heavy sigh), but it is a 2.5 hour haul for me. Like 50x, I too am more likely to make the drive if I think the headliner stuff will be run off early.

Followed, please, by the always excellent street stocks.

Mother Nature won tonight. I hope that they can reschedule this race, as it sounds pretty awesome.

I did not count them myself, but I heard we had 22 sprints in the pits, and 4 more on the way. It would have been a great race!

When did the rain start? When we were strapped in and minutes from the first practice. Perfect timing.

Showtime rescheduled this race for THIS SATURDAY, 10-7-17.
