  • A visitor from Great Britain review of Citrus County Speedway

I know it's belated, but I felt compelled to share this post that was put up on the Citrus County Speedway Facebook page with you all.

"My son and I were on Holiday from UK and had always wanted to visit a short track meeting in USA. We were lucky enough to choose Citrus County Speedway on 29th July. A huge thank you to all the drivers who made us feel extremely welcome, and who had the patience to answer our naïve questions. Particular thanks to Gator Hise, Devin Mcleod, Scott Werstein, and Sport Wilson as each of them spent a siginifcant amount of time with us. Sport even found time to come speak with us in the stands after his race! I cannot recommend this track enough to anyone who wants to experience some real USA racing and hospitality. Thanks for a truly memorable evening." - Kevin Snell

We feel so honored that you picked Citrus Country Speedway as your track of choice for a taste of short track racing in the U.S.A. Citrus County Speedway has had a long standing tradition of being "The Friendliest Track In The South" and from management right on down to our great competitors we all strive to keep it going. Glad to see you had such a great time and come see us again the next time you come to "The States".

As i've mentioned here before, i experienced something very similar on opening night at the NEW Citrus County Speedway. There was a family behind me in line from the Netherlands. Not only had they never been to a stock car race, they had never been to any type of auto race. But in searching the internet for something to do in the Inverness area they discovered that Citrus was having a race. They asked me who they should cheer for, and asked a lot of questions about the cars and the racing. After the races they were amazed at the sights and sounds and loved everything about Citrus County.
