    Last Night At Citrus

Call me ignore, but how does a car that was pushed around the track for 2 or 3 laps under caution by the firemen on their cart, leave the track and then come back out just before the green is waved and get his position back? Was there observing and had no dog in the fight. Watched many of races and never seen that before, always seen cars leave track and come back out and tag the rear.

You'll have to pose that question to Race Director, Camron Ray. As I remember there were only six cars on the lead lap with Patrick Staropoli being one of them. When he returned to the race from the pits he would be put ahead of all the lapped cars for the restart as he completed more laps then they had. That may be the answer.
