Good show last week!
Auburndale Speedway put on a no-nonsense, competitive and entertaining show. They stayed ahead of the weather and were done in 2 hours, 15 minutes. Sure, they had a little help, not a single car went off on the wrecker, no one covered the track with oil and they cancelled the autograph session.
Once it got started, the truck 50 went green from flag to flag, and was always close. Good race: the outcome was never certain until the end.
Two observations in the V8 bombers: a good-looking new Camaro made its appearance in a class dominated by antiques. Hopefully that indicates a change is coming. Also, the second place driver was interviewed after the race, and I loved his answer. When asked about working on his car, he said something like, "naw, I didn't do anything. I rolled it off after the last race, and it just sat in the field for 3 weeks." Too bad that doesn't work more often in racing.
We had fun!
