I was there, who else witnessed this? In the 70's, how could a young guy not become a fan of the hippie? I was, and he really could drive...

My first taste of sprint cars...this was before East Bay was built. These races were classic sprint car ONLY shows with time trials, heats, etc.

I wouldn't say that era was necessarily the best Sprint Car era ever, but it had to be close. Wolfgang, Opperman, Swindell, Kinser, Shuman, Allen, Haudenshield.....what a show!
