I was impressed! We really liked the looks of 4-17 Speedway last night. They had a full house of fans, a rockin' announcer who added a bunch to the show, and they gave Southern Sprints Cars a place to race.

The last two nights with the car that I drove have been a little frustrating. It is my friend's car, and it is a good one with a powerful engine. However, we had persistent engine problems that we could not over-come. It lives to race another day, so it is off to the engine shop and maybe things will go smoother.

I had only run on 4-17 twice before, and it had been a few years. Actually, I had forgotten how slippery that track is. It was great fun and I'm looking forward to getting after it again.

Constructive comments for the staff: we were amazed at how far away the ladies bathrooms were from our pit spot on the back straight. It was a 4 wheeler ride, and then a hike to get there, so I am guessing there are plans for ladies facilities coming up, right?

The class that ran the 100 lapper looked great! Were those street stocks? Many of the front runners had modern Camaro bodies on them; quite a difference from the antiques that we usually subject our fans to. Ok, the 100 lap format, run in segments, was a little long, but kudos for trying something new and modern.

Overall, we had a great time, and will make a weekend out of it next time the sprints are in town at 4-17.

Did the car sustain any front end damage after the contact in the turn four grass during the heat? It just appeared after that you were a little tentative like it knocked the handle out of it.One thing's for sure ,Steele was flying during the feature.I have to give a little shout out to Jason Bartram's finish in the Street Stock feature in his immaculate yellow #73 Camaro bodied ride.Jason (as well as his mom) are alum's from my old home track Columbus Motor Speedway. Not to mention we share the same last name with a one letter variation in the spelling.I didn't have an issue with the length of their race and it ended up being the closest contest of the night. My only concern anytime you run a 100 lap race with less than 20 cars is how many will survive to see the finish? Last night remarkably attrition wasn't that big of an issue. And in defense of the speedway I understand it is a pretty new operation there and things need fine tuning. But Mr.Gentry the first rule of business is you don't make a customer with money in his hand frustrated. They really need to work on that issue priority one.Too many people in their upper 60s as well as their 70s visit your facility. That is rough on them to stand that long. But overall a good night of racing.
